So, to be clear from the outset, this review is in relation to the market stall produce at Deddington Market and not the cafe/restaurant. I've not visited the market for a few months, and being honest, I was actually going there for a different bakery stall, but in their absence, I chose to try the Cotswold bakery. I purchased a sourdough loaf and 2 donuts. I was quite surprised that the 2 donuts were more expensive than the bread. At £2.65 per donut I was expecting a great deal, but i was deeply disappointed. There was very little filling, the donuts tasted like it was a few days old. The bread was tasteless, and the texture was really tight. The images below are of the £2.65 donut on the left, and a shop bought £80p donut.

they should consider putting cakes with icing in a box not in a bag... not only when it is warm at the counter and outside. disappointing.

Superb sourdough bread. Great that you can buy a small loaf. Friendly service. Great bakery.

Went for some hot food. The nice lady downstairs at the counter set us up with a table upstairs and said our order will be taken.

A waitress took the order of a group of seven people who sat down after us who ordered hot food. After 10 minutes of waiting, we asked someone to take our order as we have been waiting and was told that no hot food is now available because the grill gets turned off at 2pm.

The time was dead on 2pm and was told just cold food now even though we had been waiting well before 2pm deadline

If your after hot food and understanding staff avoid this place at all costs after 2pm and go to a nearby cafe who...

Strange experience. Dirty tables. Was told to go downstairs to look for myself what pastries were available as the waitress 'didn't know' - we heard her say this again to 3 other groups including when asked what cold drinks were available. Surely she could go or they could have a system that would help customers. The cornish pasty was nice but mainly pastry and the breakfast was mainly good but the egg not full cooked and the lovely sourdough bread spoilt by cheap margarine. Seeing that they charge butter prices, they really need to do...
