Antonellos — Restaurant in South Ribble

Really bad service. The manager was running the restaurant upstairs but he either didn’t come to your table to ask if anyone wanted drinks or take orders, and if you managed to order drinks or food, the majority of tables didn’t get anything even after reminding the manager several times, all the while the manager was wandering around aimlessly but not actually doing anything which was quite bizarre!

5 sets of people\tables got up and walked out at various points of their meal due to asking numerous times for drinks or where their food was while the manager went missing for extended periods of time.

Many people were given food that nobody had ordered, then were brought the exact same food back to the table 15 minutes later which was then stone cold and still not what anyone had ordered and some people who had been waiting for drinks for over 30 minutes either walked out or served themselves at the bar. If someone told me that they’d had this kind of experience there I probably would have found it hard to believe.

Ever since they started their refurbishment and reopened, the new “back then” guy on the till and phone lets the phone ring out multiple times while he’s slowly punching info into the till. We hardly use Antonella’s now because of the ridiculous amount of time it takes them to answer the damn phone and we use Pizza Italia Leyland now as they actually answer the flipping phone.

I wouldn’t mind if it was because they were simply too busy but I’ve seen it myself stood waiting for my takeout order and the length of time that it takes for him to enter an order while the phone rings out is...

We ate at the restaurant on 19th Feb 2025. We got seated at a table that hadnt be set up and basically forgotten about, people had come in after us and got there food before we even ordered!! We had the £7.99 deal.

The service was shocking, the staff were more bothered about pranking each other rather than the customers!!

Our food eventually came and it was OK, I've had better.

We asked for the bill...when I checked it, we hadn't got the £7.99 deal, they had overcharged us, one meal was £9.80 and the other £9.70, we also had garlic bread and drinks. I queried this with the waitress, who went back to check...she came back to the table and said I can assure you it's correct..I asked how it was correct when clearly the meals were not £7.99. She started to get a little narky with us especially after the waiter shouted over that it wasn't correct!! The table next to us also had the same issue, they should have had meals taken off but hadn't and they also got charged full price for meals so not sure how many people were over charged that evening!!!

When we were leaving we also noted that they were having extensive work done downstairs, the kitchen wasn't shut off from this and it was covered in cement dust and we all know that dust settles everywhere!!

I won't be returning anytime soon...it used to be so nice and the food amazing but it's definitely...

First time visiting in over 5 years. Partly due to COVID restrictions but also the abrupt attitude towards customers from the owner back then! Tonight I ordered stuffed mushrooms starter followed by Farfalle Mamma....both were cooked to perfection!... waitress service was good with friendly, professional staff. I would advise you to book a table in advance as even midweek the restaurant is busy. One couple were turned away whilst I was dining, due to lack of availability for the rest of the night. Prices are reasonable with lots of choice. Vegetarian and vegan options also available. The place is intimate with a relaxing atmosphere. It can however soon become noisy depending on who else is dining. It is worth noting that the stairs to the restaurant (which is on the first floor) are steep. There is no lift available, Anyone with restrictions or physical disability would be unable to access the restaurant. I was impressed with Antenellos this time and will go again when next...
