Mamma Mia Ristorante Pizzeria — Restaurant in South Tyneside

As soon as we arrived the staff were really friendly and smiling as they took us to our table. Straight away they brought a little basket of warm freshly made little buns then brought us little Bruschetta appertizer's. All for free aswell. They asked our drinks order while we were looking at the menu. They brought us our drinks and asked us politely if we were ready to order. I'm vegetarian and I found a pasta dish I loved the sound of and I asked nicely if they could not put them ham in and she said that's not a problem. Our starter's... main's and desserts were absolutely delicious. They looked amazing and nice size portions and we actually had to ask if they could box the rest of our mains and desserts as we were stuffed and they were happy to do that. As we asked for the bill we were offered a choice of a free shot of either Liquorice sambuca... original sambuca or Limoncello. Throughout our time there you couldn't fault the staff for nothing. They were always smiling and polite and asking us if everything was ok and accommodating my request for my pasta dish. As we were leaving they were really smiling and saying they hope to see us again. That's the best Italian restaurant I have been to in a really long time. We have also ordered over the phone for collection and again I couldn't fault them. They sounded really friendly and happily to adjust any of our orders if we wanted. We had ordered the beef for our Christmas meal been holding back all morning to build up a good appetite it was presented well with some veg not much potato using the knife I tried to cut into the beef but it was just too tuff so managing to get a waiter to get me a steak knife I managed to cut the meat but after a few attempts to chew it was absolutely clear it was uneatable it was just so full of fat and grisly so had to make do with a bit of veg. Having payed good money for a Christmas Day meal it just ruined the occasion some what, so on getting home I had to cook something to eat. Wow, what a hidden gem!

New owners and management, have taken this to a very comfortable selection for any occasion. Billini is put go to as its never a disappointment... But the new changes and small touches are with the visit alone. Warm smile on arrival, bread and butter like an Italian used to be... followed by bruscetta for the table, home made too... not mountains of tomato, just the right amount of oils vinegar and seasoning!

The food is made and served to the highest standard! And complementary drinks to conclude the evening is the perfect touch to finish an amazing food experience.
