Two years ago I posted a good review for this cafe. However, today, I had very different experience. Staff at the bar (an elderly woman) was very rude, I ordered drinks and food and was standing, waiting till she walked around and was doing something else not explaining me anything, leaning over me to pick up some cutlery, not saying excuse me or anything, then taking my debit card from my hands and taking away to complete contactless payment without asking my permission, never smiled, never thanked for the order. I don't think so I am coming back to this cafe again. What a shame!

Our first time popping in and really enjoyed it! The staff were all lovely and the interior felt cosy. The food was seasoned and cooked perfectly, and everything came in good time. There's a nice community feel to the cafe and you can see why it's such a staple.

We just came across this on the way home from a day out. It's a lovely little village cafe (hence the name I suppose) and the staff were all nice. The food was gorgeous and were good sized portions. Would definatley go back again

Really rude staff. I went in to ask what iced coffee they did and instead of telling me, one of the women said a very abrupt "well what do you want?" And the older lady said "she doesnt know" right in front of me as if I wasnt there. After the first lady came back I tried to calmly talk to her and explain that I didnt like the way theyd spoken to me, I have anxiety so it is often very hard for me to do these things. I was extremely calm and tried my best to not get angry. Then the older lady said that it was my fault for not knowing what I wanted. Literally all I wanted was a list of the iced coffees they did and if they didnt have one then that's all they needed to say "sorry we dont have one". That's it. I left incredibly upset and my entire day suffered. Being nice costs nothing and if you cant give people that then this is not the...

From entering, we asked if the place was open and it was an abrupt "yes!" On ordering and being served, the lady then proceeded to replace the bin liner and began to put the lids on our takeaway cups. I politely asked if she could was her hands before doing so, to which another "customer" said I was being unreasonable! Doubt we will return as I felt I was being told off and not at all welcome. Considering Covid is here, I thought I was doing the right thing, maybe I'm paranoid but it...
