First time dining at George's Restaurant! We ordered the whitebait and a Halloumi and Lounza Grilled Cypriot Cheese with Smoked Loin Of Pork for starters - the whitebait was lovely and tasted yummy the halloumi starter wasn't exciting. For mains, we both ordered a Lamb Kleftiko Lamb, served on a bed of rice With Roast Potatoes- upside was we devoured the whole meal! The meat was literally falling off the bone and scrumptious literally from the first bite to the end! 😋🤭 unfortunately the downside was the roast potato's they tasted stale, or just not fresh...we didn't let that ruin the lamb dish as the juices from the lamb made the rice even more tasty! So moved them to the side. No space for dessert lol, the lamb was very very filling! 🤣😋 We would definitely come here again to dine, the staff were ever so friendly. It wasn't busy and was just quiet and steady. The decor was dated but again, we enjoyed the family feel and didn't let that ruin our evening, the nostalgia from the restaurant was lovely, looking at the old photos of George...

Not quite as personal or that wonderful Cyprus hospitality it used to have. First revisit in a few years, so. We arrived at 8.30pm as normally do when eaten there in past, we ordered maze for two, now this meal is a lot of dishes, and presented slowly, over the evening, and the many times I have eaten here in past, that is how this meal was served. Each course, spaced out, acompanied with some friendly banter with the waiters. This time.. things different, even tho, only 3 other customers in restaurant, 3 courses arrived one after other, all piled up on table, we hadn't even finished the first drink and they were trying to bring the fourth course. Had to ask to slow up, let the food digest before more food.. but, 5 mins later the next few courses arrived one after other. Felt rushed and, well, even though service was efficient, and quick.. just not personal, friendly and laid back, which in my opinion was one of the best qualities of this restaurant. Food was great, no complaints on taste, fab, but.. the experience is not what it...

6 of us were out on Friday evening for a celebration and having never been disappointed with our experience at Georges it was an easy decision to book a table for our first meal out since lockdown restrictions eased. Everything was brilliant from the food to the atmosphere and Viv and Harriet didn't stop all night, but towards the end of the evening we heard a commotion and a customer was stood up arguing with Harriet. This lady reduced Viv to tears and was clearly being very awkward, rude and disrespectful. However atleast one of the members of her party had the decency to stay behind and try to apologise for her disgraceful behaviour. George's is always a great place to visit, we have been regulars for years and will continue to be regulars for years to come. Please don't be put off by any disgruntled reviews that have been left as they certainly won't reflect any experience that you will have here I can...

I reviewed George's a couple of years back and it was pretty good but I'm afraid last nights visit will be my last. Food quality and presentation have gone downhill. The starter portions are plentiful and probably the most enjoyable part of the meal. The so called village salad is a dollop of sauerkraut on the side of the plate. Definitely no attention to dressing the plate as they used to. I ordered chicken breast with a pepper sauce..I didn't expect a flattened out grilled piece of chicken for 15 pounds and the chicken maryland come with four tiny mushrooms..no peas, grilled tomato like it used too and even that was a battered flat chicken breast. No impressed and won't be back. Also 9.50 for a small wine and single gin is a bit steep. The final things was the amount of house flies around the ceiling fan. It's a little off putting.

I had been planning to visit this restaurant for a long time, and I finally got the chance. It’s a charming, old-fashioned spot, and we were warmly welcomed by a lovely lady. We ordered both starters and main courses. The Greek salad was fresh, though the feta cheese was served in very small pieces. The main course portions were generous and flavorful. The spaghetti Bolognese was delicious, and the chicken with mushroom sauce was excellent with crunchy chips. The lady serving us was friendly and kind. The only downside was the noticeable smell of dampness.
