Just returned from my first ever visit to Heavenly Desserts and when I tell you this is a hidden gem in Southampton, I am not exaggerating.

Vibrant, modern, aesthetic. This was my first initial impression of the dessert house. As soon as I entered, I was met with a professional member of staff who seated me immediately and kindly took my wet umbrella for it to dry which was nice.

Was seated and brought a menu to browse through. Immediate thoughts of the interior: very beautiful, looks like those really fancy dessert houses in central London. Beautiful tables and chairs and great range of seating to accommodate different types of parties: solo guests, couples, groups of friends to families.

My order: Mango & Rose Lassi (£4.95), Macron plate (£5.45), Lotus Biscoff & White Chocolate Croffles (£8.35) and a signature dish- Baklava & Honey (£8.05). Total came up to £26.08 but payed £30.18 due to service charge. I have my own opinions about service charge, however so paid because they did deserve it, the food is great.

Anyways to the main review!

Macrons plate: This was the first thing of the spread. Immediately loved the vibrant plate, it was beautifully designed, could tell a lot of care went into plating the dish. All the macrons were easy to cut and bite into, has the right amount of chew and there was pleasant flavours. The cream around the macrons really adds to the overall flavour

Macron 1: had to be strawberry with a sort of lavender filling. Really nice but the intensity of the flavour was the lowest out of all the 3

Macron 2: felt like it had a very slight apple flavour but for some reason tasted similar to the first one

Macron 3: wow, the best tasting one of all three and the most intense flavour wise. Instant hit of raspberry (with the little shavings at the side with the cream) was delightful.

Overall a nice starter to get the palette going and all the flavours together just blend so nicely in your mouth after eating!

Mango & Rose Lassi: really fruity, you can taste the mango and the rose. Blended nicely and was really light and fluffy. Cute decoration on top with the petals and I believe there was some coconut water in the drink as well. However it isn’t something I will order again, the combination doesn’t really agree with my taste buds but I’m sure others will enjoy it

Signature dish- Baklava & Honey: never tried baklava before but my gosh have I missed out. That pistachio and pastry is phenomenal and again the plate was beautifully crafted. Couples with that vanilla ice cream and crispy pistachio macrons, my gosh what a dish. Can understand why it’s a signature. That savoury saltiness from the pistachio brings this warm nuttiness in your mouth that’s just amazing.

The ice cream and honey ‘puddles’ just work so well together and as a lover of pastry, the top of the baklava was crispy but so easy to cut through. Such harmonious flavours, the combinations really let each flavour work together to shine and create a wholesome piece of dessert. Sweet, sugary, nutty. 9/10

Lotus Biscoff & White Chocolate Croffles: don’t even need to say anymore, just greatness in your mouth. Warm, soft and just chocolate galore. The Croffles were more croissant than waffle however this didn’t take away from the experience, the croissant base was so warm and soft. Ice cream had a nuttiness to it as well which was so nicely paired with the Croffles.

Overall: the consistency in each dish is something that needs to be praised. None of the dishes fell short Great value for money. Some of the reviews were saying the desserts were pricey but I have to severely disagree with this. When looking at the whole menu, didn’t even see anything over £10. You get quality and great portions for the price. To get quality for under £10 is no easy feat, so don’t know why some reviews are saying this. Can have a great visit for under £30 with variety of desserts and drinks

-Great business hours. Easily accessible in Central Southampton. Staff were respectful, polite and...

Absolute disappointment! Highly requested to go visit the new dessert parlour in Southampton.

I have to say the décor looks aesthetically pleasing from afar, but looking closely into the decoration there are some flaws but netherless the place looks 'instagramable'

Ordered a few items from the menu, drinks looked nice tasted ok- ordered the rose and lychee and the spiced latte.

Have a lot to say about the service of the place... Seated very quickly is was quiet at the time I went orders were taken swiftly by the lovely young looking lad, however the order took over an 1hr to come to the table and I noticed the people that came in after were served quicker than me.

Once the order had arrived was very disappointed. Order- sticky toffee pudding- custard arrived in a sticky dirty dish, I asked for this to be changed, they just took it and cleaned the sides and return back top of this it was like warm custard therefore I asked for the custard to be heated again and obviously my sticky toffee is now cold at this point but gave up on asking for it to be heated and replaced.

Caramel brownie- such a small portion but was nice

Brownie explosion disaster! You get 5 pieces of cold brownie drizzled with chocolate sauce not genorously doused in Belgian chocolate sauce as described on the menu.

When asked to speak to the manager she said that this is how it served and how they have been trained to serve the desserts.

The sundae was hard a rock- it's just gelato ice creams with broke. Ice cream cone which went solid and hard to eat. Not worth it at all.

Honestly just complete disaster from the moment the order was taken. Will not be going back at all. Not...
