Such a disappointing experience. After seeing this place online I thought I’d give it a try as it looked great. I can’t fault the concept with the music room, the aesthetics or branding they’re really nice, however staff seemed unattentive and food was terrible. I went in on a weekday and ordered a Flat White and the Miso Aubergine Donburi off the lunch menu. The place wasn’t busy as it was just after lunch time, so there was no lunch time rush. After waiting 25 minutes for my food to arrive I had to ask the server where my food was, they told me it was coming. When it arrived my rice was solid - to the point I had to ask the server again why my rice was like that. They then tried to explain to me that it was how it was cooked and it was fine, so I had to show them that I couldn’t eat it, with it being completely solid in the middle. They took it away and within minutes I was brought the dish with fresh rice. I had already paid for my food when I ordered so was then offered another coffee as a goodwill gesture. This place has potential to be great but waiting so long for a dish to arrive at lunch is one thing, then to be told it’s fine and having to prove it...
Read moreI recently decided to try Good Things. It was a Saturday, sun pouring through the window, a gentle southerly breeze, we were seated by the entrance and the staff were welcoming but it was not all good (🥁) sadly. We were offered water for the table which never arrived and our food took a while to arrive but we think it was due to a shortage of baguette rolls for the bahn mi sandwiches we ordered. I just wish we had been warned about a wait!
I had the tofu bahn mi which looked impressive, but the tofu itself was quite bland under the katsu breading. The rolls also made eating the sandwich quite a challenge, so I'd probably prefer a less crusty roll. All in all, there are good things to be had at good things, but there is always room for improvement.
Of course, this post is written with good...
Read moreFirst time visiting Good Things for lunch, and it exceeded my expectations! We tried the Miso Marinated Steak Bánh Mì and the Korean Fried Chicken Bánh Mì, and both were absolutely delicious. The beef was tender and flavorful, and the chicken had just the right amount of crunch and spice. Each sandwich came with a generous variety of side ingredients, creating rich and satisfying layers of flavour in every bite.
The coffee was another highlight—the latte art was stunning, showing real attention to detail and professionalism.
The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it an ideal spot to unwind with friends, enjoy a good meal, and chat. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall great experience.
Definitely a place I’ll return to for its unique menu and...
