This is mine...
Unfortunately, this isn't the first time I've left Maritimo Lounge disgusted by the way the staff treat customers. The first time, I returned to the bar as my red wine didn't taste right. Instead of immediately resolving the issue, they passed the glass around for various staff to taste/validate my complaint as I looked on feeling like they were deliberately trying to shame me. This was absolutely disgraceful. It was replaced in the end but completely ruined my visit.
Last night, I was given a glass with lipstick on. I asked if it could be changed, and the staff member concerned scrutinised the glass before then giving me a clean one. These 2 incidents alone reflect very poor customer service.
We each then went on to order food in the app. 2 meals arrived, but the 3rd did not. It was ordered first, so we felt something wasn't right. When we got halfway through our meals, my friend went to the bar to enquire. She was told they were really busy and short staffed, and the food would be out soon. We chased it up on several occasions with several members of staff who all said the order is in the kitchen and it would be out ASAP. We chased up again, at which point we were told the order didn't go through, they have just put it through, we asked if they could prioritise it and they said they would try their best. Still no meal.
Then the manager came out, this is when we realised that the order was placed to the wrong table number (the next table), an error on our part but nevertheless, the way we were then treated was disgraceful.
Notwithstanding the fact that we had been told on several occasions that the food was coming over a 45 minute period, the manager then asked if we wanted our money back or to wait for the meal, we asked for both to which he nodded and walked away. The food came, it was nice.
We then went the query the refund at the bar, the manager very assertively said that his colleague had come out with the food, shouted out several times and that we did not hear him (apparently every table looked up apart from us, if he was aware of that I question why he didn't then come over to our table to ask us). We had also told this same person that the food had not arrived. He did not put 2 and 2 together. Had he done so, he would have diffused the situation early on. The manager and this same person then proceeded to argue with us about who was at fault. The manager kept asking if the food was good, which it was, but the service experience is equally important, which he refused to accept. Shocking for someone working in the service industry.
The staff were very antagonistic and created such a scene that WE were then asked to leave the premises. I am flabbergasted at the attitude and treatment of customers.
I have been to many other Lounges before and fortunately have never experienced such pretentious, abhorrent treatment. That first visit, I just put down to ignorance, but to have this on a second visit says to me that there is some serious mismanagement at this establishment.
In all this, there was never at one point an apology! Not for the bad wine, the lipstick glass and the way we were misled (or lied to) about the food order.
Nevertheless, I'm expected that this feedback will be completely ignored!??? I really hope some action is taken, very damaging to the...

Visited today for breakfast. The place itself is lovelyâclean, comfortable, and with a great view of the marina. However, given the location in a wealthy area, I was surprised by the lack of quality in the food.
Although the restaurant was nearly empty, there were plenty of staff standing around doing very little. We ordered a breakfast and a couple of sides, which came to nearly ÂŁ40. For that price, I expected much better.
Unfortunately, the food was mediocre at best. The beans were cheap and watery, and the ketchup tasted like the lowest quality you can findâdefinitely not Heinz. The overall quality of ingredients felt very much like cost-cutting, which just doesnât sit right when youâre charging premium prices.
I completely understand the challenges businesses face with rising costs, but that shouldnât be reflected so obviously in the quality of the produceâespecially not at this price point.
The view and setting are fantastic, and itâs clear the place has a clientele that would happily pay more if the food matched the location. Right now, youâd get a better breakfast in a budget cafe in Shirley.
Also, it seems every poor review gets a response from âAmieeââbut nothing ever seems to change. Is Amiee even real? Is she AI? A chatbot? Or perhaps sheâs just a yacht floating across the water? We may never know. Amiee, if youâre reading this, Iâd genuinely love to meet you and talk about my experience in person.
I wonât be returning anytime soon, but if I hear the quality has improved, Iâd be happy to pay ÂŁ40âÂŁ60 for a proper breakfast made with fresh, locally sourced produce. Maybe consider reaching out to Sunnyfields Farm or another local supplier to elevate your menu and match the standard your location deserves.
Youâve got the setting and the customer base. Now just invest in...
Read moreWent here for a brunch date and think this would usually be a nice spot but obviously came at the wrong time (Sunday 10:30) as the quality was lacking and the staff were clearly being overwhelmed by orders.
Food selection was great - two milkshakes and veggie breakfasts were tasty and filling. However, the eggs were a little underdone and (with some raw whites) and the food was not too warm by the time it reached our table.
We waited at the 'please wait to be seated sign' before being told to go in and find our own table. We ordered using the app but were still asked to add a tip while paying in advance (despite not having had any real staff interaction by this point). Drinks arrived after a wait and then by the time food had arrived we'd been inside almost an hour. Had to ask for cutlery after the food arrived and one of the breakfasts was missing an item (fried potato balls) which was delivered quickly in a side bowl after being pointed out. Food was okay as said above but never had a table check to pass on comments.
The atmosphere and style of decoration was very nice but the place was extremely busy and the staff were turning over tables quickly but were clearly taking in more customers than they could manage. Saw several people sit down at dirty tables and pile up leftover plates for collection. The system for delivering drinks seemed chaotic with staff members wandering round with trays asking if any table had ordered them without seeming to know who themselves. Staff themselves seemed nice enough but barely had any interaction with us and all seemed stressed and overwhelmed by the amount of customers.
Maybe on a quiet weekday morning it would be a...
