Hanoi Bistro — Restaurant in Southampton

I got the Special Pho for 13.50GBP (UberEats; I think in shop it might cost less) and it was honestly excellent. The broth was super flavorful and the noodles were cooked to perfection.

I hadn't eaten much at all the day before but after about 25% of this I found that I was full. I sort of picked at it for a snack in the afternoon, and then ended up finishing the rest off at dinner. It was just as tasty each time I returned, and even after it had cooled to room temp.

The chicken was surprisingly flavorful for how colorless it was, and the beef occasionally was a large slice that was tricky to eat with a spoon but otherwise nice. I picked up the chili sauce and the dipping sauce and used plenty of whichever was the darker sauce-- very spicy but super delicious! Would recommend if you're not scared of some heat.

My only real improvement would be that I most loved the bites that had more veggies and herbs, so adding more of that...

Underrated restaurant. It’s quite empty so do come here if you get the chance. The owner is super friendly and his food packs a lot of flavour. For a good price, I got some piping hot pho, excellent broth and fresh ingredients. I also definitely recommend having a Banh mi as well, its so worth it I would get it again as well. The bread is super crispy and they give you more than enough filling to keep you addicted. So glad that a Vietnamese place finally opened up in Southampton. The beef pho was decent with soft and tender slices of beef. The large portion is really big so you might want the regular size if you're ordering sides. I wasn't a fan of the banh mi - it was in a French baguette rather than a traditional bun, but the filling was quite good so I'd get it again if they swap out the bread.
