Service was atrocious No one came to take an order for 10-15 minutes. Not even for drinks. We just sat waiting around. We tried to order the kids food With a young lady and 2 set menus and they insisted my 5 year old and 3 year old would also need to order a set menu...(ridiculous- which toddler is going to eat a full set menu)

Eventually ordered the kids meal after speaking to another staff member and our 2 set menus.

Waited patiently for the food but only our set menus arrived..starters and mains ... still no sight of kids food. Waited and Waited. Other people had arrived after us and they recieved their kids food and their food before us.. raised it with a staff member and they said there was no kids food ordered. We were shocked as our food was getting cold and kids were really hungry waiting. And explained of course we ordered kids food if we have come for dinner what will they be eating! Explained the lady already took the order for the kids and they apologised and went to make the kids food......

Food was faultless and perfect. Shame with the service. I was told the lady was new but surely if they are new they would be trained in taking orders and processing them.

Also was told we can't use the free starter voucher with my sons starters..as we are ordering set menus for the adults. Which I explained the kids order is separate. But they had none of it. Sounds like there's a theme with the free starter voucher (see trip advisor for similar) Again food was great..almost bit too spicey when ordering the chilli naan. Never had so many chilli's in a naan before and we are use to eating spice.

Future note: train new staff properly as she was not professional and casually dressed. The other 2 staff gentleman were lovely and smart when representing a...

🚩HAIR in the food🚩 ! Never Acceptable!

02/July/2024 - 1800Hrs to 1845Hrs

Justifying that it happens once in a while by the Owner or the Rep is another Red Flag.

Lesson Learnt : Reviews are now not trustable.

Review:

We ordered ( Picture and Video included) looking for some authentic Indian treat which turned out to be worst experience in the UK since ever we been here.

Panipuri was the only saviour which we actually finished.

Khaju Paneer was heavily laden with Cashew more than Paneer. A normal Khaju Paneer is made of block or dices of Paneer. Unfortunately they grated it for obvious reasons which is again not authentic. Cashewnuts overloaded lead to slower give up and couldn’t enjoy it after couple of bites.

Mushroom Rice, presented well which we expected to do some justice, shockingly it made us give up once and for all. HAIR IN THE FOOD!! (Video attached )

We were left with no choice but to call for the bill and leave, as the one of the Bearer who calls that his team is behind this, justifies that it can happen once in a while or a lifetime. The courtesy to be a bit more professionalism was accepted than a flavour of debate. Such attitude is not acceptable if it’s by the responsible incharge and in this country were food safety , hygiene HSE is never taken for granted if reported.

Padharo is a new restaurant in Southampton and offers Indian vegetarian and vegan dining. That is what mainly attracted me to visit the place.

The interior is quite spacious and loved the decor. It is evident how care had been taken in the design which is modern but still had a nod to India - such as the bells hanging from the ceiling like they do in temples.

The food as you can see in the pictures looked great and tastes great as well. We tried the masala Dosa, which I absolutely loved. I would highly recommend it. We also had butter naan which was warm and crispy and was perfect to have with Chana Masala as a main. I was also quite excited to find they offered Thums Up and Limca.

I really appreciated their menu which was simple and sleek which is unlike a lot of Indian restaurants who flood their menus with so many items that it becomes hard to choose. I also liked how they offered some of the items as a starter or main - like the Chana Masala.

The service is the only thing that they need to improve. The staff were welcoming and friendly , but need to be a little more professional in presentation. For example, presenting the bill in an enclosed booklet. Given it's a new restaurant, I think it's a learning curve for them as well so expect it to get better.

In summary, it was lovely food in a nice atmosphere and I am looking forward to...
