DO NOT EAT HERE!
Here is my horror story with this place; and oh boy, is it a doozy!
So I placed an order with this place through Just Eat a few hours ago. I waited an hour and the order showed up on time. So far, so good...Right? Well, not exactly. Far from it in fact...let me explain...
I was greeted by a very rude driver who was shouting at me for the building numbers being wrong. I acknowledged that in fact, this was the case. I calmly explained to him that it was a block of flats and that there was nothing I could do to change the numbers as I didn't own the entire building. Well he didn't listen and preceded to blame me and claim that "it wasn't worth it" for him. "Very well" I thought. I will just explain how to exit the block and he will be on his way and I can dig in. As I started to explain how to exit (front entrance is locked for non key holders) he started to threaten to vandalize the block I live in and "Rip the signs off!"
At this point I shut the door on the idiot but was this the end of my story?
Oh no, not by a long chalk!
So I opened the outer plastic bag and the inside paper bag was soggy and all my food had just slid out the bottom and onto my floor. Poor packaging for hot food. After spending the next 10 minutes cleaning Prawn Korma off my floor, I decided to phone the restaurant...Engaged for the next half hour...
It gets even better!
I decided to phone Just Eat directly and get them to contact the restaurant. Just Eat were very understanding and rang me back within 10 minutes saying "Tariq Manzils has agreed to give you a refund but not tonight because they are busy and you will have to wait till tomorrow."
Unacceptable! Once they have your money they are never in a rush to dish out a refund!
Finally after much persistence I managed to speak to the "owner" who then decided he wasn't the owner at all and that the owner was not even in store, which was a straight up lie, because he was the "owner" before I told him about wanting a refund, when Just Eat had rang them!
This is brilliant. You can't make this up if you tried.
This idiot who was...or wasn't "the owner" told me if I wanted a refund I had to bring the food back to the restaurant. He was frustratingly rude and I explained I was over 2 miles away. Did he really expect me to walk 2 miles with a bag of Korma? YES! He did not care. I also told him I wanted to make an official complaint about his driver who had threatened to vandalize my block.
"The owner" or "not owner" upon hearing my testimony ACCUSED ME OF LYING ABOUT THE ENTIRE ORDEAL!
He claimed that he had already heard about the driver being lost and it was my fault that the numbers were wrong on the block. At this point my blood is boiling.
I preceded to explain how the driver threatened to vandalize my block but "the owner" or "not owner" continued telling me I was lying and how "he heard what happened" and "my driver would never do that" because "I know him" and "It's all (my) fault!"
WHAT!?
I tried being reasonable but he was acting more and more aggressive and childish on the phone and started shouting at me.
HE HUNG UP!
I am ready to explode.
I marched the 2 miles to the restaurant with the food and entered the establishment. The driver clocked me and instantly stared at his feet, making no eye contact whatsoever. The guy behind the counter gave me a refund after seeing the poor packaging, and after seeing how annoyed I was.
Funny, now I am face to face with them they are listening? Typical.
I would have kicked off even more but I had the money in my hand and would rather forget this place even exists.
Tariq Manzils is appalling and I urge anyone who wants a decent Indian in the city to go elsewhere.
This place is a disaster and run by a bunch of muppets. I am going to copy/paste this review on Just Eat. They do not deserve your custom or your money!
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
WOULD GIVE THIS PLACE A ZERO IF IT...
Read moreAbsolutely appalling ! Ordered through just eat last night and the order arrived 30 minutes later than stated, it arrived freezing cold and all of the contents had poured out all over the bag, no wonder they stick the paper bag with food inside a plastic bag to catch all the grease and food that escaped the boxes. When ringing up the restaurant to complain, I was told they would redo my food. Well to me that wasn't acceptable, we had children that were also eating with us. They wanted us to wait. So I drove to the premises as I wanted to confront the person that had hung up on me on the phone. So I spoke to 'tariq' the owner , I was then passed to the chef ! And then they passed me the phone were I spoke to the 'female boss' who said she would be there in 10 minutes. I waited at the shop for her to arrive. She arrived with the 'bosses daughter' the bosses daughter seemed to have a level head but the boss , she was something else. Rude arrogant and damb right disrespectful. Got in my face shouted at me, when I retaliated and shouted 'who are you f*ing shouting at?' She slammed her hand on her counter and then proceeded to be irate and shout and then contacted 999. All she had to do was give a refund. She agreed with the police woman on the phone that the delivery driver would come back to my property with my refund and come and collect the mess that they called food. We waited for hours. Eventually I contacted the woman at 10.53pm stating the fact the driver had not arrived. Her response was that he would be there as soon as possible. What a surprise he never showed up. I contacted her this morning stating the fact he never turnt up. Her response was 'sorry' and she will sort it out as she is currently in Portugal. Never had so much bullshit from a company. How they are still trading with such bad customer service is beyond me. I am putting this as a warning DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. YOU WILL BE MASSIVELY DISSAPOINTED , RIPPED OFF AND CONNED !! rudest bunch of people I have ever met...
Read moreThe food was prepared and delivered quickly - well within 45 minutes. It arrived hot and well packaged. All good so far, and a reasonable price too, we thought. The onion bhajis were good, if not a little greasy. The Peshwari naan was noticeably undercooked, yet well filled and surprisingly warm - in retrospect likely because it was packaged well with other hot food in the bag.
However, although well portioned, the curries were a disaster. The chicken ranged from rubbery to dry in texture, depending on which piece you were eating. The Kashmiri and the Korma were both grainy, but the Korma moreso. The Kashmiri was quite spicy, and like none I have tasted before. It lacked balance due to there being no other fruit than banana in a dish famed for pineapple and lychees. The Korma also had a distinct lack of the classic coconut flavour. The coconut fried rice was decent, although its flavour was lost once mixed in the respective sauces of our chosen meals. A real shame - we were both hungry and were looking forward to this meal. A late night trip to the Co-Op would have been the better option. Learn from...
