What a perfect stay at No.4 Carlton.||I was first appealed by the beautiful room pictures and the great reviews so I decided to book a standard room to this boutique hotel.||We were first welcomed by Peter, the general manager, who is by far the kindest, most efficient, caring and professional manager I have ever met during any hotel stay. Sincerely Peter, just wow and thank you for everything. As a manager myself, I was super impressed by your work (and even took some mental notes for my own work).||The whole place really amazed me. Everywhere I looked, it felt warm, cosy, rich and beautiful. I could tell some people really put their minds into the design and turning this stay into a perfect experience. ||I don’t have to add comment on the lobby and the rooms because they are as beautiful as the pictures.||All the little things that were said, offered and thought of made my stay become unique and amazing. The usual and complementary products that were provided every day were of great quality.||The location was perfect for me, close to the main streets and to a magnificent park.||My two other friend couples who stayed over at the same time had very similar comments. We all felt quite luck to have found this gem and intend to come back before or after our next cruise. I was even a bit sad to leave to be honest!||Peter, Michelle, thank you and...
Read moreI recently stayed at No. 4 Carlton Hotel in Southampton, which has been overrated as a 5-star hotel. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The hotel lacks a bar and restaurant, offering breakfast only on a tray in the room. The staff and manager were incredibly defensive and unhelpful regarding customer satisfaction.
I had booked a three-night stay but checked out after just 12 hours due to the poor condition of the products and an unprofessional receptionist. Despite disputing the charge for the two nights I didn't stay, the hotel defended their position and Amex sided with them. This demonstrates their arrogance and disregard for guest satisfaction.
Typically, hotels worldwide charge for the first night and refund the remaining nights if the guest leaves due to unmet expectations. However, the manager at No. 4 Carlton Hotel failed to handle the situation caused by their staff, forcing me to leave much earlier than planned.
Considering this hotel's poor management and subpar service, it should be listed as a 2-star hotel rather than 5-star. Pre-action protocol is underway before taking legal action. Having stayed at numerous 5-star hotels, I've never encountered such arrogance and mistreatment by a hotel manager, especially over a non-refundable rate. Avoid this hotel if you're looking for a true...
Read moreI don’t even know where to begin with how amazing this boutique hotel is. We were very early to check in and they couldn’t be more helpful from storing our luggage and having housekeeping get our rooms ready. The location is close to everything you need including the Sea city Museum with a fabulous display of the titanic. The rooms were the loveliest. Every detail was spot on. From a personalized breakfast-to a fully stocked complimentary bar with waters, wine, sodas and snacks. They also have a coffee maker and kettle with everything you need to fix your morning drink . The floors are heated, there is air conditioning and/or heat should you need it. When I say every detail is taken care of? They have USB ports right next to the bed. The customer service was absolutely refreshing and so hospitable. Location is fantastic and close to everything you need from a Tesco to any kind of food you want. The neighborhood is lovely and safe. Can’t speak to parking as we didn’t need it. You can’t go wrong with this beautifully appointed hotel. So refreshing from the chain hotels. Thank you all at the Carlton No 4-you’re our new favorite place to stay when we come to Southampton for a cruise or...
