I love this cafe. There is one member of staff who does my head in moaning all the time so I limit the number of times I go in on a Friday. Otherwise the staff are so kind and caring. They noticed I was upset the other day and they took the time to ask me if there was anything they could do and I said you cant bring my friend back but I would love one of your delicious bbq bacon burgers. Their burgers are so good I dont get them from Burger King or McDonalds i always get my burger at the boat shop. I also love their omelets and there ain't no better for a full english breakfast that is also disabled accessible as I am in a wheelchair and they always make space for me. I was sick once with my epilepsy and jean was on her way home she stopped to help me and I will always love her and be thankful for that. But it is nice to have somewhere nice to go when you like me and live on your own where you are welcome and safe to be there on your own. Enjoy a.lugh with the music on the radio because I'm a singer. Anna once said to me you can sing along but no getting on the tables. It was just fun and on that particular day I was having problems with my PTSD and my depression I went in and had a delicious meal and a laugh. I am always thankful for that. So even if like me you on your own ttavelling through it is literally 5 minutes walk from the train station at woolston so...
Read moreWe like the Boat Shop Cafe. It was the first cafe we went to when we moved to Southampton. It is clean and functional, and does the job. There's enough seating, and a relaxed atmosphere. There isn't much in the way of decoration - it's fairly plain, but does have plenty of natural light from the large plate glass window at the front. Prices are reasonable. Food is the standard cafe fare, with cheap ingredients indifferently cooked, but it's all quite edible. There are, of course, niggles such an an overstewed tea bag left in the mug, and a milk jug that spills milk as it pours, so there is a lack of care and thought in most aspects of the place, but these niggles are fairly common to most cafes outside of London which are not transport cafes. The overall impression is good. Cheap, homely, edible food in clean and relaxed...
Read moreI started becoming a regular customer at this cafe, until last week when i went in there at 2:35pm trying to order a sandwich to take away. I was told I was not being served because they shut at 3pm. I was lft livid..... I could usually turn a blind eye when they repeatedly "forget" to take the fat from my bacon, but the fact they refused to order for me almost 30 minutes before closing time was horrible. MY Child was left most upset. Real shame cos it was the best cafe in woolston, back to...
