Probably the best coffee in St Albans.
This family run cafe takes a lot of care over it's coffee, and it shows in the taste and the delivery. Even though the coffee is superb, it still arrives in double quick time, garnished with a smile. It's most certainly the best stop if you are in St Albans on market day, and if you are lucky you can get a window seat and watch the World of market trading as you chill with beverage in hand. They don't have a huge range of paninis, but the selection covers a good range of tastes and they are delicious, generous and well cooked. If you are ravenous, or just a cake monster, then the plentiful range of sweet offerings won't dissapoint with a wide selection of dilectations. I am not a mad fan of paninis, and I am fairly fussy about cake, but I always end up having both, so that tells you something. The only problem I have with this place is that I always want second cup of coffee...
Tip: Don't go in there if you are on a diet, or trying to...
Read moreThis café has become a special part of my everyday life—not just because of the consistently delicious coffee, but because of the amazing people who make it feel like a second home. Velina, the wonderful owner, has created such a warm and welcoming space, and the incredible team—Shayna, Neetu, and Josh—greet you with genuine kindness and a smile every single day. As someone who’s vegan, I really appreciate how they go the extra mile to offer plant-based options. It’s such a thoughtful touch that makes me feel truly seen and valued as a customer.
The coffee is always top-notch—smooth, rich, and brewed just right—but what truly sets this place apart is the heart behind it. It’s more than just a coffee stop; it’s a space filled with positive energy, care, and a sense of community that’s hard to find. I’m so grateful to have this little gem as part of my daily routine—it makes every...
Read moreAs a retreat from the street noise and a chance to have a sweet nibble, I dragged Mummy Debra in here. Sharing a White Chocolate Trippin we fought together to cut the thing, bits flying off everywhere! Perhaps this is why the café worker didn’t offer us a fork but Mummy was left to for one. It was our first time tackling a tiffin; so, perhaps they are normally eaten with the hands and it was mummy’s faux par!
Sitting on a sack-covered chair seat, we enjoyed our little sweet treat even if it was an arduous task to consume it. Mini Panettone hang from the wall lamps, perhaps trying to give a sense of uniqueness I was wondering whether the boxes contained the Panettone or were just for show. The staff member was friendly to a teddy bear and the place was almost empty. No...
