Omsin's Thai Takeaway — Restaurant in St Albans

My Wife and I had a Very Hard day at work today and as my Wife is a Hindu and Fasting for the next 5 days we thought that we would treat ourselves to a Special Take-Away Treat tonight so at just after 8pm my Wife ordered a meal to be delivered at a Cost of over £40.00. my Wife ordered this on a Credit Card. Now the last time we ordered from Osmin’s the Driver was late as he was trying to enter our Property via the ‘NO ENTRY’ Gate however the Food was good!

An hour after we ordered this meal we had no contact until we called the shop and were told that the Driver was on his way but had two other stops on his way? My Wife questioned if the Food would still be Hot! At 9.15pm a Full 1 Hour and 10 Mins Later we get a call from the Delivery Driver stating that he could not get in. When my Wife said are you trying to get into the ‘No Entry’ Gate he just said ‘YES’! When he arrived he commented that he had been stopped by the Police!

We finally received our food at 9.20pm and all I can say was that it was disgusting. Greasy, Soggy, Congealed, Cold and inedible! My Wife called the Shop and complained and the lady said that as compensation we could order our next meal Free! Really? Why would we want more of this awful food? Service? Surely the response should have been Sorry, We will refund the money and try and enjoy some of the Food. To be honest we just threw it away! It was too late and just Yuk!

Please take this note as constructive criticism but also as notice that we will be putting our Feedback of your disgusting Food and Service On-Line. People need to know when they are being ripped off and how you treat your CUSTOMERS. Or should I say Former Customers.

I hope that you recognize your error and try and improve in what is a VERY competitive business...

The food here is good, however the restaurant itself is dirty which make me wonder that a restaurant obviously as dirty as can be seen by customers, might have kitchen area as bad? Furthermore I don't want to be eating in a restaurant where the entire time I am there I have to listen to the telephone ring as no one can be bothered to answer it.

Suggestion - Clean and paint the restaurant, get new table and chairs, the old ones covered is silly vinyl tape look ridiculous, move the fridge behind the counter and get a smaller one, change the flooring. Cant comment on the back but I hope it's better than the front. Also answer your phone, these are customers and therefore your livelihood and should be given...

...just to edit the review below.. since writing the review I've been back about 5 times and every time the noodle soup is brilliant.. it always has lots of tender beef and spices etc.. this is a hidden gem in st albans and I encourage you to try something other than the usual Thai classics of green curry, pad thai etc

Had an amazing noodle soup, which isn't really a thing you normally see on Thai menus but they have about 5 or 6 options on a new menu. They made it extra spicy and were friendly and helpful.

It's really a take-away with a few tables but 100% worth going for...
