Pat's Cafe — Restaurant in St Helens

Well after many times trying to go for breakfast here , today i finaly made it. I met up with an old friend who treated me to the £8.99 full english brekki. After reading many rave reviews i was looking forward to it. On arrival we sat down and there was 4 more tables occupied with people already eating. My friend went to order our breakfast and came back with cutlery and a small mug of tea for me an a coffee for him. First thing i did was clean my knife n fork which had grease stains on the knife, not a good start. From there it was all down hill. The tea was warm not hot , then the breakfast came. Yes it was quick , only plus in all this. The sausage's were cooked just about 1 part coloured 2 parts pale , no taste to them and slightly warm. A small portion of tinned tomatoes, beans and a few fried mushrooms which were all just warm. 2 very small slices of thin tastless cold bacon , 2 cold tastless hash browns , 1 slice of cold fried bread, 2 hard over cooked fried eggs and 1 slice of cold toast. What a waste of money and so over priced for the worst breakfast i have ever tasted using cheap very low quality products. How anyone can rate this place as high as reviews suggest is beyond me, yes we are all entitled to our opinion and personal taste and this is a honest and accurate review. I would never go there again and would not recommend it to anyone. I only gave it 1 star so i could write a honest and accurate review. I would just like to add that my review is in no way bias or meant to cause offence, i believe in giving honest feed back, i would have done it face to face while there, but due to an appointment i had , there was no time. Had long hair on my food. Just changed the sausages that the hair was on instead of the whole plate which youd expect. Food kept getting attacked by flies. Pathetic portion of beans. Massively overpriced for the budget food they serve you. Used to love Pats but the huge price increase isn't worth it anymore. For the price you pay I'd expect better quality of food. Fast service. Overcooked food(could taste burn) but every item apart from fried egg was cold. Clean place but awful food. Very limited menu how they can charge £6.00 for 1 burnt cold sausage 1 piece of cold bacon a hash brown the warm egg only heated the beans for o minute. Wow.
