As always, fabulous service and good atmosphere within the venue. This place gets busy very quickly so highly recommend booking a table if your planning to eat. Tapas style plates are tasty and a good selection to choose from. We had chicken strips, scampi, and garlic bread to start, followed by steak. Menu can be a little limited, only one choice of steak, but food is of a high standard. Beautifully presented and value for money. The Crown Wharf is a firm favourite for us Large area/room, which I believe is privately bookable upstairs, ideal for family celebrations......

Update 14.06.2024

Visited today for a light bite and a lunchtime drink and have to say I was fairly disappointed. Ordered a roast beef sandwich, which I read came with onions and gravy. The sandwich arrived with one slice of beef and a light colouring of gravy, i asked at the bar where the onions were and was informed this formed part of the gravy. I was, however, offered additional gravy, which arrived in a small jug. unfortunately, the gravy was extremely watery, and it lacked taste at all. Half my plate was covered in salad, which I don't eat and wasn't listed on the menu. The beef itself was very chewy and a struggle to eat as a sandwich. We were offered no napkins or cutlery, so we had to ask.

Left the location very deflated and disappointed as previous visits have been good. Other tables had ordered loaded chips, which looked lovely, and the plates were overflowing. My sandwich lacked any volume, and for £7.50 I expected a lot more for my money.

Shall be hesitate to reviait...

Went for a birthday meal and had booked a table in the restaurant in advance . We were takken to a table in the restaurant area and then told to order at the bar , we were told we couldn't open a tab which meant we had to go back and forth to the bar to order food ,then more drinks and then desserts .there was no waitress service even though we had booked and reserved a table in the restaurant area !!!! Very disappointing as this wasn't made clear in advance . We had been here before with family and had been seated in the restaurant and obviously had waitress service meaning we could just stay in the restaurant area throughout our visit and not keep leaving that area to walk across the bar area to order . The young man who served us our meals was really miserable and looked like he didn't want to be there , not even smile when he brought our food. The pastry on my pie was really hard as if it had been sitting on the hob for a long time and it did take quite a while for our food to come . Dessert was meant be vanilla cheesecake with black cherry , really small portions and the cherrys were red not black and they were absolutely tasteless. Really disappointed as we could have gone anywhere where you go up to the bar and order and this wasn't what we expected as we had booked a table in their restaurant , the food wasn't up to the standard of our previous visit so not somewhere I would go back to for a...

Location ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Good amount of parking just outside, super close to the centre of Stone.

Interior ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ So apparently this is recently built but honestly the whole place just felt wholesome. Like some kind of heritage building that had been careful restored and converted with love. Really liked the vibe.

Service ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ We were served by a very friendly gentleman who was happy to cater for my desire for chunky chips not fries. The food came relatively quickly without being so fast you question the cooking methods

Food ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ I probably eat too many burgers but occasionally I hit on a burger which elevates itself above the others. This one was edging on that, overall I wouldn't rave but what was of note was how thick and juicy the actual burger was, absolutely stellar. Friend had the pie, didn't taste it but looked top notch, I did sneek a taste of the gravy and that was devine, thick enough to cement bricks together and full of flavour!

Price ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cannot remember the exact price but it was what you would expect and I think well worth it.

Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I am a big fan of this place to be honest, I can imagine myself finding a cozy corner and ordering a big sharer plate and many tasters of their ale.... it is a brewery...

We ordered Scampi and Panko breaded Brie to start. The scampi was acceptable but nothing special. The Brie was undercooked - ie luke warm - so it wasn't melty in the middle. Mains were Chicken Curry and fish and chips. The Fish and chips was acceptable, but overpriced for what it was. Mushy peas were awful. I'd rather have had a bigger portion of peas from a tin. Chicken curry was absolutely dreadful. We both looked at it and said "what on earth is that? is that what £15 gets you?". Portion size was far too small. It was mostly rice, there was hardly any meat or sauce. The chicken was overcooked and tough. It was so bad we sent it back, and ended up changing it for fish and chips. We haven't been to eat here since just after it opened 2 years ago. We were kind of hoping that things would have improved in that time, but sadly not. Some very strange menu choices: pie and chips with red cabbage? Whats wrong with plain old peas and carrots? The cynic in me would say it was done deliberately to make you pay extra for the green veg. I don't think we would eat here again.

Great pub and brewery. Lovely atmosphere. Parking for cars and boats. Pleasant seating area outside and plenty of seating inside. Great bar, great selection of food and wonderful service. We opted for Sunday roast and they were really good. Portion sizes were excellent. Both the roast beef and pork were well cooked and came with Yorkshire pudding, carrots, cabbage, broccoli, parsnips, roast potatoes and a great gravy. The pork was also served with pork crackling and apple sauce along with a sausage wrapped in bacon. Drinks were great and service was excellent. The girls serving the food and dining area were friendly and helpful and always smiling and happy. There’s a great atmosphere and the sign out front reminding people that it’s hot and to take care for dogs and pets in the sun was really nice to see. Parking is good and spaces are a good size and the location makes it easily accessible to people in Stone and visitors on boats or by car. Highly recommended. We will certainly come back again.
