What a lovely bar/ pub/ restaurant. It's quirky, interestingly laid out and has some really nice staff running it. I think it's one of those places that's different things to different people. On a Friday and Saturday night, it's bursting with live music, great function and cover bands. The crowd is of a variable age too, neither cool or sad, just enjoying the atmosphere.

On Monday nights, the open mic hosted by Paul Walker brings a different crowd and shines a musical light on the place. You get all manner of wanna-be's, has-been's, quite possibly will-be-to-come and just happy-to-be's. And a nicer assortment of local talent you couldn't hope to meet. There's some nice noises as well, so you might be pleasantly surprised. And if you're a muso, it's a great place to hangout. Also, if you ask Chris the barman to get his 12 string out he will absolutely blow you away!

Nice beer garden, which is really enjoyable to sit outside and chill with the vapers on a warm summer evening. They've kitted it out very nicely. Watch out for the tap waterfall in the garden. They've got heaters as well so if you're the kind of person who's really busting for a ciggy then at least you won't get too cold.

On the few times I've eaten there, the food has been excellent. I will remember the chunky chips cooked in goose fat to my dying day.

I wanted to love this place but they just cant sort out their allergen info. I cannot eat gluten at all but am always polite and engaging with restaurant staff and can usually find a dish that is suitable. However in summary I was brought 2 main courses. I was told the first dish was GF even though it wasnt what I ordered I said it would be ok. After about 5 minutes it transpired it wasnt GF nor was it my meal. I was then brought my meal and again after consuming half of it the person who served me both meals appeared with a bowl to take part of the meal away saying if wasnt GF, too late for me! Again after a wait I was brought a substitute and assured it was GF. I gave it to someone with me as I just couldn't be certain it was ok for me to eat. As a result I have been really unwell for 16 hours. Come on guys sort this out.
