The moment we found out about Wagamama coming to Stevenage we were excited. Whilst it was unfortunate we missed the launch it was nice to visit after it had been up and running a few months, and they’ve clearly settled into their stride!
Now there have been queues out the door every time we’ve been to the leisure park, which I have to admit put us off at first but we desperately wanted to try so we just waited in line. We were pleasantly surprised the queue moved quickly, we had friendly staff who came out and said hi and it all felt very professional.
When we managed to get in the door first thoughts were WOW what wonderful decor, easily the nicest we have seen, done to a high standard and had a really nice relaxing feel, but this place is bustling with people. Amazing!
We waited slightly longer for our table as we had a baby that needed high chair but it was worth the wait as we had a bit more room to play with and it made our meal more enjoyable. That said I’m docking half a star as the high chair didn’t match up to the table height and as there is not tray on the chair it made it harder for the little one to eat.
Waitress was spot on, friendly, prompt and we got our food in good time as expected from this chain. The food was lovely and hot and the portion sizes were good, though i so have to dock another half a star as it felt it was slightly rushed when cooking; the soba noodles needed more stir frying and I’d have been happy to wait for a few minutes longer. Nevertheless the food tasted great and we enjoyed our meals.
It’s safe to say we’re going to be coming back again and again. Great start Wagamama Stevenage and only a couple minor items to work on. Thanks!

Read morestevenage branch have not been to for a long time as it was always run bad and today was no exception. family were happy but only because they were to busy talking to notice. the man serves the first dish with his thumbs inside the dish, then walks to the till and put his hands all over his lips whilst he works out something then runs his eyes with both fingers and hands that have just been over the inside of our dish. next up the lady serves us also with thumbs inside the dish… is this to give more flavour ?? then my daughters tea stained egg comes up (well the bottom of it was stained but who cares at this point) the egg has a small piece of broken shell left on the underside (thankfully caught that) .. next my ramen - weak broth, slightly undercooked noodles and as i eat the egg i too fall fail to a crunchy egg shell in my mouth….. oh and the duck gyoza not crispy anymore, recipe definitely changed over the years, sauce is some sweet crap which used to be nice crap… but the pastry of the gyoza was gross. like it had been cooked at wrong temp and absorbed the oil .. £50 later … one sad pete .. and the most expensive ramen i’ve ever had with hardly any brisket and tasteless with the crap egg - pretty sure no ramen is worth £20 and i go to great ramen bars. stevenage service and food … bad … very very bad … although everyone else seemed quite happy… lol had to add to this.. same guy drops loads of soup on the floor near the till and just walks off and leaves it.. next server comes along and luckily spots it before walking on it.. jeez this place ..and omg he either has a twin or a clone ….im going to assume...
Read moreSo we ordered a few of the starters and a main course each. If you've been to Waga's you know that the food comes out when it's ready, as opposed to in the usual order of starters, mains etc. My main course hadn't arrived by the time all of our starters had come out and my husband had eaten a third of his main course. The staff kept checking on us, and asking if I had ordered a main meal, because of how long it took for my dish to arrive compared to the rest of our order. Honestly I was so taken aback by how attentive the staff were. We had no less than four people checking to see if we were ok. The restaurant was packed. It was such a nice atmosphere. And as always the food was so fresh, tasty and plentiful. I will concede that Waga's isn't the cheapest place for food, but I never leave there hungry. On this occasion though the staff went above and beyond, a lady whom I assume was the shift / branch manager had checked on us when she saw me without a meal for some time and said she would 'sort something out' for us. I was absolutely stunned when she removed my main meal from the final bill. Honestly that kind of service is next level and earns you five stars and a...
