13/01/2019 lunch date
we were staying at shringley hall hotel and popped out to a play area close by.
where shall i start- upon arrival was wowed by the decor and ambience. such great attention to detail. we initially were in the area as we went to a toddlers soft play area. checked for the closest food for us and the little one and I'm glad this caught our eye.
love the feature wall. bar is well lit and very clean space. greeted nicely upon arrival and food was delicious and prompt. we ordered butter chicken and naan for the little one. and we had a sharing chaat thela to start with followed by mains: chilli and onion naan, chilli chicken, chicken lollipop.
we tried to stick to what we know and be safe but the owner gave us ragada pattice on the house to try. it's a great option for vegetarians consists of potato pattice with chutneys and white peas. it was a good recommendation however we liked what we ordered a lot more.
the sharing thela was to die for. needed more to be honest. that's how nice it was. chicken lollipop just yum. chicken chilli goes with the name. was a tad spicy for me but my husband loved it. butter chicken was a winner with both us and our toddler not to forget the little popodams.
I cant justify how good the food was. highly recommend. will be going back again ! most definitely
bathrooms smelt beautiful and very clean .. if it was warmer I probably would have stayed up there longer. only downer is no toilets downstairs..no lift. and no baby changing area.
this place is doing exceptionally well for how it has started..hopefully it doesn't change when we go back next.

Read moreThe ordeal of searching food inspired by Maharashtrian cuisine seemed like it had reached a dead-end. But as the saying goes, ‘there is always light at the end of the tunnel’ ,was exactly how I felt when I had the food in Bombay to Mumbai. Coming from Mumbai, I was satisfied with at-least having ample of options for Indian food, however I could never find Mumbai inspired food anywhere around. The closest I could find was Pav-bhaji and that’s it. However, this place is like heaven, the food is excellent, and I can go on loop with the adjective “EXCELLENT”. We tried Masala papad, Pav bhaji fondue, Vada pav, corn fritters for starters and my oh my, I instantly was taken on the streets of Mumbai. For mains tried Veg Kolhapuri, and if you know of our culture, Kolhapuri based dishes are spicy and the chef doesn’t play with the authenticity by diluting the flavours. They keep it as it is which makes it a journey. As we couldn’t keep our hands off the food, we tried bharlela baigan (peanut based aubergine) and Goan fish curry and IT WAS DELICIOUS. The baigan is a must must must. And to make it more nostalgic, we had Gola for desert. Once the Kala khatta, rose syrup touched my taste buds, I knew this is my regular place for food now. To add to this experience, the owners are extremely welcoming, friendly and warm. They are passionate about providing authentic flavours and experience. I recommend to atleast try the food for the authentic flavours. Indian food has so much more to offer other than butter chicken and tikka masala. And if you are from Maharashtra or Mumbai, you are in...
Read moreGreat tasting food. We were due to visit for a meal on Saturday 1st Aug but due to new Covid rules our babysitter had to cancel, so we opted for a takeaway instead. Having never eaten here before, we were hoping for good things. Food was lovely and there were different options to many standard Indian restaurants ive been to. I cant remember what we ordered except for chilli chicken starter, and some kind of sweetcorn bhaji but we had 2 starters and 2 mains, rice and a gorgeous peshwari naan. We over-ordered and, yes, ate it all. The only downside was we couldn't eat in the restaurant which looked really clean, modern and spacious (I hate being crammed in when eating) So it was a great meal and we're looking forward to when we can go in...
