Friday night 7.30. Booked a table for eight. Three other couples dotted around and a party of about twelve with children. We were placed in the window with seating so tight when someone wanted to use the loo (tell you about them later) we all had to stand up and let them out. The waiters were ‘surly’ as if there had been a fall out between them?! Ordering food was easy and a there’s a vast menu to choose from. However when the food arrived the waiter stood at the end of the table a ‘barked’ each plates name until we claimed it, hilarious! We sent back one dish (lamb chops) as they were completely solid. Couldn’t cut them with a knife. We wondered if they were plastic! Mains were disappointing semi warm dried out rice one curry over spiced so much it was inedible. Told the waiter he said it was the chillies fault! Now then the toilets! The initial clue as to their standard is when you open the door to go upstairs and the stair carpet is threadbare. The hand rails are sticky and the other paintwork dirty. The mens toilets filthy excretion smeared wall. Ladies loos similar. First and last time we’ll ever go. We thought the days of poor Indian dining had passed many years ago but if you fancy a trip back to the 70s as a treat you’ve found...
Read moreCame on Christmas Day wish I never bothered. The place was dirty and had to go to the closed bar to asked for soft drinks as the waiters did not know what he was doing . Then they brought the wrong order to our table of six but first I started eating the bowl of chips than they realised it was for the table behind us and took the food off our table and give it to the people behind us and they didn’t say anything. I would . When we did get our food I realised I just had a knife and no forks and had to wait 5 mins for a fork but everyone on our table said the food was just about warm if not cold . The staff are not who was there 5 years ago as it was a great place to eat then but now it horrible and to top it off I’ve been sick all Boxing Day and can taste lamb as I had a lamb madras and feeling real bad as I suspect it can only be food poisoning from the lamb madras . It cost us £45 each including children and we could only pay in cash not card . This place needs closing down and a revamp of new owners . It’s a shame as this was one a...
Read moreWe thought we'd try this rather than our usual preferred options & regretted the decision. Don't get me wrong...it was OK, just nothing special. Service was efficient but unfriendly, feeling like you were inconveniencing them by being there. Food was good. Despite it being a Sunday, the £15.95 Sunday Buffet advertised was not available for some reason. We were just told it was "back in January" though this wasn't advertised anywhere we could see 🤔. There was no music or any semblance of cosiness. Atmosphere seriously bland. Bring your own alcohol will be an attraction for some but we weren't drinking on this occasion & £3.50 for a Diet Coke seemed expensive. Soft drinks have to be bought on the premises. It's always good to try alternatives but I don't think we'll bother again. Far better experiences can be had just up the road, with exceptional food & far friendlier & atmospheric...
