This review is really just about the quality of the cask bitter. My impression is that the food is the main driver, the updated conservatory is beautiful. I have been in twice recently & on both occasions I was very disappointed with the beer quality. The first time the member of staff I could hear struggling to pull the pint, & I was immediately suspicious. The pint I was handed was clearly from the end of the barrel, it was cloudy & had the off smell. I pointed out that this was not right & reluctantly the pint was changed but clearly the staff had not wanted to change the barrel. Second visit the barrel had to be changed again & I don't believe in coincidences. It's a pub I want to be successfu! Food hugely over priced - I think they think they’re in Manchester City centre or the botanist in Alderly Edge.
And they are far far far from it. Big pretenders. Manager is throws her weight around , and knows jack about customer service. Too busy pretending to work.
I’ve been going for years , never again , not that they need more customers now considering the price of their menu ! They can stay a float with a hand full.
If you like over priced, frozen , oven cooked food , that takes 45 minutes with a side of foul faced management - then this is your joint.
Avoid the king prawns if you do go - as they’re barley prawns and charge £9 for a pretentious portion that tastes like Iceland’s gino decampos line - (ginos are...

Most of us had the featherblade which was amazing the two girls had something off the kids menu both enjoyed what they had. Service was brilliant really liking the new beer garden can't wait to see the new inside soon.
Been here many times now and the Sunday roast is amazing especially the lamb. Service is always superb, one of our favourite places to eat.
