Sol's Fish & Chips, kebabs , pizza — Restaurant in Stockport

I am the second generation of my family to use Sols takeaway and up until the last two visits I've made, the service and standard of food has been excellent. The last time I visited, one of the items I ordered wasn't in the bag and when I returned it hadn't even been made - granted Mike was very apologetic about this as I know he strives high standards in his business and after the number of times I've been in the past, I let that one slide. Visited again tonight (08/06/2019), the place wasn't busy at all - I was ignored by the women behind the counter for the first 5 minutes I was in there (I'm 6'5'' and 17 stone so not exactly missable), then when one of them did finally start taking my order she stopped half way through to faff about with an order SOMEONE ELSE was bagging up, I had to just walk out unfortunately. It's sad that such a great business with a fantastic reputation can be so badly damaged by disinterested staff. I'll give them one more try in the future but if it's a bad experience again then I won't bother anymore which is a shame as we have been going to Sols as a family for about 10 years now.

Have to say extremely disappointed with Sols tonight. Ordered on the app (which is supposed to be more efficient) and was in store well before the time it said it’d be done for of 18.49. The store was NOT busy. I Saw my double chicken burger being prepared and put in the warmer. After a few minutes I realised my double cheeseburger was in the warmer. How long for, is anybody’s guess. I continued to wait, and as people came in got served and left, I looked at the time of 18.59. I went to the counter, and the assistant asked can I help you. ( her companion disappeared for about 6-8 mins) I said mines been in there for about 10 mins, pointing to the warmer/heated area. Not once did she check the warmer as orders continued to be placed in. Finally got my order, with a large chips; which was definitely smaller portion than have had previously, and had way too many crunchy little bits in. The Staff when Mike's not there can be a bit rude and snappy. Particular the younger ones. Although their is a very rude lady who works there in her mid forties. Short and has fair short hair. She has a very sarcastic way about her and never uses any manners. Also tends to talk at you rather than to you. (To the point whereby if she's serving I will go somewhere else) Once bitten 14 times shy! She's had her chances. She's been very rude to both myself and my Mrs on a number of occasions.

I have been a loyal customer to Sols ever since it opened. There food is still up their with the best but the newer staff have let the place slip a bit. It has become very stingy on the amount of chips you get as well. Considering the prices. I've heard mixed reviews about Sols for a while.
