The Foresters Arms — Restaurant in Stockport

We were seated near to the kitchen door, hearing the constant pings of the microwave wasnt a good sign! we were to discover why. Ordered Steak, with 'full grill garnish'.. It was a salad dressing? Had to order peas and onion rings seperately (didnt eat, batter tasted strange). Food arrived hotter than the sun, no warning, plate burnt my wifes finger! Our pudding arrived, scolding hot, first taste burnt my mouth and blistered my lip. I asked the waitress if it had been microwaved, she said yes but again no warning of the scolding food or red hot plate. Waited 10 minutes for it to be cool enough to eat. Cake and custard.. why microwave? Just pour warm custard over the cake? Hadnt been for a few years, thought we would try it again, very dissappointed. Beware...

Absolutely loved it here, the food, the staff and even the punters were incredible! Paul could not do enough for you, and the same goes for his staff. I had the lamb Sunday dinner and honestly it was one of the best I've ever had. We paid £66 for 4 meals, 4 desserts and one round of drinks and it was worth every single penny. I could not recommend this place enough, and I look forward to my next visit which hopefully won't be too long! To be honest, our main courses weren't quite as good as we've enjoyed in the recent past - I've thoroughly enjoyed a world-beating pie before now.

Everyone was friendly and helpful. Thanks for a lovely time. It was good to see the place bustling. This is how it should always be.

We were even serenaded by Elvis! I didn't know he sang 'Always On My Mind' live. Twice, too!!
