We love this pub so much. We came here as soon as we moved to the area and it swiftly became our favourite! We’ve always felt so welcome, both by the exceedingly friendly staff and lovely community of locals. I love getting to show the place off when we have friends come and stay, who are always equally charmed by it, and pleasantly surprised by how cheap it is! There’s a great range of drinks to keep everyone happy, a huge beer garden that always has blossoming seasonal plants, and a cosy...

To experience this oddity in the modern world you cannot do it over a couple of drinks or a fleeting visit. It has historical and cultural depths that the locals are barely conscious of and only the regulars get it. Once you get it you'll find it difficult to let go. When I enter the MOP it feels like I'm putting on an old, but well loved jacket, with its creases that fits just right....

Came here last week after living down south for X amount of years, came in on a busy Friday night and the place was absolutely lovely, fast and very pleased service and a great vibe. I'm 22 and love small pubs with a great atmosphere of the older generation.
