The dirty crumpled menu set the scene for what was to come, should have given up at that point. Food was appalling. Bacon topped cheeseburger with no cheese, no bacon and very little in the way of a burger. Cold soggy chips / fries. 'Side salad' that was literally one mouthful. Scampi chips and peas didn't have any peas. Lasagna looked like it had been dropped at least once and was devoid of flavour, very sloppy /thin. Unpleasant experience. Almost £50 for food that was worth under £10. There was no offer of a price reduction for the inedible or missing food. I know that there has been a recent change of management and some of the staff were new too (That being the reason that I didn't verbally destroy the food somewhat more at the time). Hopefully there will be improvements, but I certainly won't be making a return visit. The ONLY part of the experience that was (almost) as it should have been were the drinks. 2 cokes and what should have been a half pint of shandy (ended up being given a pint). Additional update from 2024: A relative of mine went here for a meal, and from what she said, standards haven't improved at all. The staff are friendly and polite, however the food is still of a standard where the best thing to do with it is dispose of it in the...

Not an entirely happy experience here. The waiting time was a little excessive and whilst everyone else was happy with food and drinks, I was brought the incorrect drink and then the burger I was brought turned out to be burnt underneath and was hard. I was told this was normal chargrilled, however black and like a rock is not chargrilled unless you like visiting the dentist. I was told another one could be ready in 5 min, however I had to go and ask for it 15 min later when everyone else had finished. By this stage, a group of men were standing around our table which made it unpleasant for our little boy, so I rushed through the 2nd burger burning my mouth in the process whilst my wife checked the bill. We were of course overcharged, so my wife when asked how everything had been told them it wasn’t the best 80th birthday meal for her dad. I left the rest of my food so we could get away from the group hovering over our table and me made a sharp exit vowing...

My family have been visiting this pub for food for a long time. The standard of the carvery is consistently good. There is also a small a la carte choice of food on the menu. It is affiliated to Robinsons brewery and has a good range of drinks. There is a conservatory that you can sit in and dine but it is very draughty if it is cold or windy outside. On my last visit in early October the guy behind the bar more or less instructed us to sit in the conservatory because everywhere else was full. We asked our waitress if we could move and she found us an alternative table no problem. Staff are generally polite and know what they are doing. There's a lot of young staff who may be college students earning in their time off and doing a good job. There's a fair sized car park and parking around close by. Also try The Hesketh Tavern, The Fletchers Arms, The Puss in Boots and The Spread Eagle.... all around different locations in...

Seven of us went to the Three Bears Saturday 7 March. Two had carveries the rest had other meals. We had to wait fifty minutes for our meals, they were very busy but it seems a long time. The meals were mainly good, but I had the fish which unfortunately was over cooked and dry. The two that had Carvery said the meals were very good but Yorkshire Pudding while very big was far too hard to cut or enjoy. When I went to the toilet I found that the seat had a blue residue on it. Looking above the seat there is a PHS machine on the wall and the liquid from it was trickling down towards the seat. The ladies in our party said their toilet was not clean.

Despite the establishment saying that it was open until 11pm today… a barmaid told me that it was last orders at 10:10pm… and said that she wouldn’t offer plastics so I’ve rushed this before aiming back home… as I was told I had 15 minutes to finish that drink (this was a Wednesday)
