Zumuku Sushi Cheadle Hulme — Restaurant in Stockport

Order took over 2.5 hours to be delivered. Was expecting 35-55 mins (Deliveroo estimate). So kids were up well past bed time, and we were all starving. Gave up in the end and drove out to get burgers. Ruined our evening, and the rest of the weekend will be ruined too, as kids will be tired. Peeped in whilst getting my burger, and didn't seem that busy. I can"t imagine what took them so long. Have eaten there a couple of times before, and the food is truly excellent, but sadly will not be using them again on principle. Just rude. Not fair on the Deliveroo drivers either, if the delivery status is to be believed.. At least 4 drivers were at the restaurant waiting for the food and then giving up. They don't get paid to wait around, only...

Fantastic Japanese food, I don't even know where to start describing it. Once you walking in the door, you feel the nice and welcoming of this lovely food heaven.

The waitress will come to you, deliver to the menu and actually chat to you about how you feel and what your day has been.

The food is great! I tried Terayaki chicken with rice, seafood fried noodles and so on, I can see the chef is pouring his heart towards every bit. And you literally smelt the food and especially the soy sauce from the back kitchen.

Sorry guys for the photo as I was too hungry, but from the things you see on the table, you probably could understand what a lovely food place this is!...

The service I can’t fault. A lovely young lady working there and she was very pleasant. The sushi however, was not good. We ordered two of the Zumuku Special @ £15 each and it seems like we paid £30 for some rice and a tiny almost non existent bit of salmon ontop. The sushi was rolled so thick in dry rice, with a tiny piece of salmon ontop. I have been here a year ago and it was one of the best sushi’s I have had (and I eat a lot of sushi at many different places). This time, it was one of the worst. I felt like supermarket sushi would have been better. Sorry, I won’t be returning...
