Afghan Palace Restaurant — Restaurant in Stoke-on-Trent

My family and I went here for a meal as we love Afghan food and thought we would try it out. The first visit was fine, but the second time we visited we had a guy on the table behind us playing Taliban Propaganda videos and slamming his hand down hard on the table several times very aggressively. The staff said nothing to him even though they knew he was scaring us. It made us feel very uncomfortable. After we had finished I told my family to go straight to the car whilst I payed. As i was paying, the offending man got up and walked straight through the staff door at the rear! I'm almost certain he worked here. I'll never return because of this, which is a pity because the food wasn't that bad.

Drove all the way from Manchester to try this Afghani cuisine highly recommended by a local. The drive through the rain and thunder was totally worth it as we finally discovered a good tandoori chicken. The starters are served on a sizzling platter with onion slices below that elevates the whole dish. We tried the mixed platter and Chicken Biryani as well. All the grills were well done and the rice was really flavourful. Another special mention to the fresh naan that we enjoyed with the grills, and salads. If you are around on mid way from a journey, do drop in and you will be amazed. It is also pocket friendly. Don't exoect much outa the ambience as it is a local restaurant with bare necessity but...

Was passing through Crewe when we decided to have some nice dinner, preferably Afghan or Pakistani food. Stumbled on Afghan Palace on google maps in Stoke on Trent. Wow, what a recommendation. Perfect hospitality, food super tasty, we had lamb dal and biryani. Portions are big, frankly the dal comes with a naan and rice, it was enough for the 2 of us. Asked for hot biryani, came with lots of green chillies, not red chilli powder. Super tasty lamb dal, the lamb was melt in the mouth soft. Served with a smile. Excellent Afghan tea too. Visit if you are in the area. You won't be disappointed....
