Our family came to Lahori Kababish approx two weeks back as it was my husband's favorite restaurant when he was studying at the University. It was more than 11 years that my husband moved out of Stoke but to this day his favorite food paya and lamb biryani is from Lahori Kababish.
So we went to Stoke just to eat here but when we entered the restaurant was under construction. The owner straightaway recognized my husband and asked us to come back after 30 mins so that he can clear and clean a section for our family. We went to see a cousin and also got her with us. It was four of us and a baby. By the time we came back two sections were cleared and cleaned with heater set up for us.
I was amazed by their hospitality and the passion with which they served and talked to us the entire evening. They made us feel like a family and we absolutely loved our time. Even though there was construction going on there were back to back food orders being made for delivery.
The food was next level. For starters we ordered mix grill, Lamb chops and fish, it was finger licking. The paya and naan was like something i never tasted before in the UK (I came from Milton Keynes and stayed in London so have tried a lot of the payas but this one was on the top!) The lamb biryani was so amazing and with so much meat. Delicious! We also had their gajjar ka halwa which was on the house. And delicious chai to end the meal. Amazing it was!
The owner also offered us drinks to take back as we had a long drive back home and didn't charge us for it. So kind of him. There are very few places where you get great hospitality, warmth and amazing food. I am just so gutted that Lahori Kebabish is not near me otherwise i would be ordering food from there everyday.
I know this is a very long review but i had to do justice for the lovely time we had and great people (the owner, previous owner and serving staff) we met. We will definitely be going...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWorst takeaway. Where to begin... Normally these guys are average at best, but today was the worst takeaway I've ever had. The pizza was undercooked, with strong smelling and moist dough. No onions or peppers as advertised for the peri peri pizza. I found not one but two hairs in the pizza, embedded in the cheese. Nasty. Then the burgers came dry as a bone, dry piece of meat in a dry bun. No sauce or salad or cheese or anything. Dry bread and meat, inedible. Then instead of fried chicken, I got some small chicken wings.
Upon delivery, I noticed we had chicken wings instead of fried chicken - the delivery driver called the takeaway and they told me they have this problem all the time, so they gave me £3 off and let me keep the wings. I guess that's ok but why don't they fix this issue if it happens all the time?
Then later I called them about the pizza - he insisted that it wasn't possible that the pizza was undercooked.
I complained about the dry burgers and he said that we didn't specify to add cheese or sauce or salad in the cheeseburgers so he gave them to us plain. I asked him, don't you think it's weird to make a burger so plain and dry? He admitted that it's weird but he can only give what I asked for over the phone. So I said, well why didn't you prompt me and ask if I wanted salad or sauces? And he said 'if you were in front of me in the shop then I would have asked you, but how can I ask you over the phone?'. I said to him, what do you mean how can you ask me, just go ahead and ask!!! He then changed the story and said he's not allowed to ask me if I want salad or sauce.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Waste of money, waste of food. Not cheap, and doesn't even deserve a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeen there On the 24th January it was a Friday and had a really great experience.
I read a lot reviews saying Service is slow, staff cant speak english, rude staff, staff not listening or not understanding but this was my first ever experience at Lahori Kebabish and i loved the food and The service was really fast even when they were a lot busy at that time they still provide the best customer service.
The young man with the glasses at the front was soo nice and well mannered person. I went at around half 5ish and it was a lot busy that time as i saw him working alone at the front I thought it might take time for him to take my order or to serve me as there were people with families there ordering aswell and adding more stuff to their orders and this young man was busy packing but he still gave priority to his customers and with full respect he kept adding to their orders. I heard the chefs from the back shouting but iām not sure why but really good customer service.
Best curries in town!!!!!
Try it trust me you will love...
