Food tasted good but service wasn’t great, I was forgot about at my table with my partner and I was stuck in the corner having to sit in a doorway or facing a brick wall. We got moved to a different table and I was apologised to for being forgot about and not being asked for what I want to drink or eat. At the new table they still didn’t come in any rush and the drinks took half an hour to come to us. We sat for ages and no one asked how the food was and when we were finished they didn’t ask if we wanted desserts or any more drinks also we weren’t asked if we wanted the bill. There was only one fork at the table and they all just seemed relatively oblivious to our existence. Would maybe come back because the food tasted good. 2/5 for...

Visited Museum for the Bottle Kiln photo exhibition today but couldn’t resist a lingering walk around the shop. So many wonderful pieces of Spode for sale along with many other well know Pottery makes such as Wedgwood, Shelley, Coalport etc. There are also a number of paintings/ prints for sale the proceeds of which all support the Museum. I did so many laps of the shop before making my final choices that I had to reenergise at the shop cafe which has seating inside and out. The ‘proper’ tea and Cheese and Mushroom Oatcake gave me another opportunity to ogle the pottery I might have missed on the previous four laps of the shop. Great value pottery for those seeking a bargain and it’s good to support the cause. The cafe was a very...

Took my mother to Spode Works Visitor Centre as she is interested in art of all kinds. We all really enjoyed the couple of hours we spent looking at the informative displays and chatting with the very knowledgeable and friendly staff. There was a lady painting who had worked in the factory in her youth, she had some fantastic stories about her time there. It was so interesting to hear it all first hand.

At the moment the centre is only quite small but is rapidly expanding and soon there will be a lot more to see. There are also plans to open a cafe on site.

The future looks great for the visitors centre, a large investment means they are expanding in the very near future. I will definitely be returning to see how they...

The Quarter @ Potbank, Elenora Street Stoke. This Superb establishment is second to none when it comes to Dining in Very Interesting and Different Surroundings. The food was Superb and Plentiful with some unusual takes on presentation, Chillie Beef made with real chunky Beefpieces rather than minced beef was a Superb twist. There is regular very tasteful entertainment during your meal, we were entertained by a Very Accomplished young Lady on Piano. I am a 'Five Pint' guy BUT with the cost of a pint being well over £5.00, I settled for one pint of IPA. I will not pay over inflated High Class Hotel Prices. This is Profiteering and Definately Keeps people away! I would otherwise be a Regular Cistomer!

Charity run museum on the original Spodeworks site. A little small and clearly run to a tight budget but the charity volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable. The highlight is some of the 200 year old Spode bone china collection. Featuring the iconic blue and white wear. The charity is currently seeking to purchase more of the site to haverenough display space for the full collection. Many exhibits are displayed without glass allowing good photographic opportunities. Hopefully with enough time and funding this will grow into an important museum.
