Starbucks Coffee — Restaurant in Stoke-on-Trent

Often pop here for a quiet brew. The staff are great and very helpful. I went in with 2 young children for a sandwich and coffee. The children sat at the table while I waited but the staff still insisted i should sit with then and they'd bring the food and drink over which was really kind! I like the layout of the store, you don't feel like you are sitting on top of each other, and I also like how quiet it is. I prefer this over the Wolstanton store as I can hear the people I have come in with and have a proper conversation! There is a good turnover of people here but mostly seem to be take away so if you sit in you really can just relax and enjoy your brew. Also pleased to see they've started selling Pikes place so now I can get my coffee for home from...

I have recently had treatment for cancer and look a bit worse for wear these days, but I try and get out of the house and decided to try my local Starbucks, the building is great and big and the coffee is to the expected standard , but the staff made me never go back. There are I think twin sisters that work there that made me feel so unwelcome with the 0 words they said to me, it's like they looked at me and judged me as a druggie or something because of looking ill, I would get a "tut" when asking for a bag to take my drink home never a smile or a hello. I don't expect a conversation but manners and not to be made to feel like a freak would be nice. I now get my coffee from Gregg's next door, the staff say hello and are nice....

I called yesterday evening with my son, we arrived about 5.40-5.45pm and ordered our drinks, we sat down at 5.50pm, at 6pm a staff member came to me and said 'were closed now' , ....when ordering I wasn't told I needed a takeaway cup as we would have to leave at exactly the time of close,.....so because I was still sat there 3 minutes later, I was again told 'were closed now' so I said I haven't finished my drink, she just repeated 'well....we're closed'.....you're not chucked out of a pub at last orders or a supermarket at 4pm on a Sunday....you're allowed time to finish your drink or shopping. Rude Staff & overpriced, won't be calling at that...
