Excellent place. We were a party of 12 including 5 kids. We booked in advance. The pub is nice inside + they have a covered patio area and a beer garden with lots of space for kids to run around. Our party of 12 had the entire covered patio area to ourselves, so it was perfect (see pic). Like many pubs this pub is struggling to get enough staff but I have to say we found the service to be flawless, the staff worked so hard to look after us. We ordered lots of food and many drinks and it was all flawless. The food is not gourmet, it's basic pub food, but everything we ordered was fine, and overall we had a fantastic day. BTW they have quite a few vegetarian and vegan options.

We went here as it's close to where we're staying. I'd read other reviews and noticed the mixture of good and bad. We took a chance and were very happy. The staff were friendly and nice, the food we had was lovely - scampi and the nachos. Desserts were good too. There was a good selection of beers. Would happily go back. I got a couple of pics of the menu as of today (26.09.18) as the web site didn't want to work earlier. I noticed a nice looking outdoor bar area which wasn't open when we were there but looked good none the less (picture included here).

Nice pub, good beer, lovely outdoor space and loads of parking. Point deducted for food - I ordered a bowl of 'spicy parsnip soup' there and when it arrived it was basically roughly shredded parsnip in hot water with a splash of hot sauce! Visit for the beer and the beer garden, not the food!

We came to the Old Tramway Inn because of an entry in the Good Pub Guide 2017, - The pub itself was ok, but the food was awful and the response from the staff when we drew this to their attention left us amazed. The photo I took of my wife's Steak and Ale Pie ("Crispy shortcrust pastry" according to the menu) does not accurately convey the sad, soggy mess that appeared on the plate; the pie had collapsed completely because of the way it had been heated up in a microwave and the vegetables, particularly the carrots were inedible, again, microwaved until the colour had almost drained out of them. My wife gamely batted her way through about a quarter of the dish before giving in. When the waitress came to collect the plates (my wife having swiftly departed to the toilet at this point), She asked "Is this finished with?"... "Yes", I replied, "it was pretty awful!" I was amazed at the reply " Yes, I thought that, in fact I felt bad about bringing it out to you". On leaving the pub my wife went to the bar to complain again and was simply told "Yes, I'm sorry about that" No offer of a replacement or refund was made and no offer to speak to the manager or whoever was responsible for...

Booked a table of 7. Checked the booking in the week by popping in and called the day before to see if we could increase it to a table of 9 which the gentleman explained it would mean we couldn't have 1 table and it would be over 2 tables so we left it as 7. On arrival the gentleman said oh you were the table we didn't have a time for yet I could see clearly it said 3:15 in the diary next to our names so there was no table for us. We waited for a table to leave and were then sat over 2 tables. The food came out 50 minutes after ordering and was luke warm. We had to ask for mint sauce and a small pot arrived with no spoon to serve it so we just tried to pour it leaving enough to share. We also asked for napkins which they were unable to supply as they didn't have any! We never had another table check and the plates were cleared. We waited for a further 20mins to see if there was a desert menu but no one came so we just went up and paid the bill at the bar and left! It was a very disappointing birthday meal that as much as I would like to recommend and find something...

I saw there was going to be a weekend event with a barbecue over the Bank Holiday weekend. I called to reserve a table for Sunday and asked if other food was available and whether there were gluten free options. I was told yes to both questions. We arrived and ordered a drink. I asked what was on offer for the barbecue and what other options there were. I was then told it was sausages or burgers for the barbecue, but no other food was available, contrary to what I had been told over the phone. When I asked if there was gluten free bread for the sausages and burgers, I was told no! I went outside to look at the barbecue and found there were no accompaniments to the burgers. No salad, chips, coleslaw etc. We finished our drink and left. I'm very disappointed with this. I had visitors for the weekend, and we then had to walk around Stratford to find another option. I feel if a venue is going to advertise an event like this, they need to get their facts straight, and also offer a better spread for a barbecue, including GF bread/rolls at the very least. Not...
