A step into a modern Delhi, this Indian restaurant offers a vibrant venue to enjoy some tasty authentic Delhi Street food in. We celebrated Ben’s birthday there by going for the Bottomless Brunch…

We went for a random weekend in Sunderland in the middle of August, and for Ben’s Birthday meal, I saw that My Delhi was rated #2 top restaurant in Sunderland on Trip Advisor AND they did Bottomless Brunch, so that was decision made. Indian food and bottomless Cobras, what’s not to love???

🍺THE DEETS🥘

90 minutes, £35pp, bottomless drinks and 2 small plates or a main dish each. Drinks include Cobras, Prosecco, Cocktails, Mocktails, Chai & Soft Drinks Small Plates included Onion Bhaji, Cauliflower Manchurian, Paneer Tikka and more Brunch Plates included Butter Chicken Fondue, Chilli Chicken with Shezwan Fried Rice and more We chose:

Poppadoms & Dips (extra £4.80) – these were a great start and a perfect accompaniment to the drinks Royal Chicken Biryani; A traditional chicken biryani slow-cooked in a large sealed pot served with biryani gravy and garlic raita – this was a large portion and was beautiful, I think the portion of biryani gravy could have been bigger as there was a lot of rice. Butter Chicken Fondue; Cheese naan rolls served with a side of Butter Chicken – this dish was outstanding. Lots of saucy curry, which wasn’t spicy but was delicious and I loved the naan rolls and dipping them in! We managed 5 drinks each, which was fab. The cocktails I tried were Rangpur Bramble; A divine combination of Tanqueray Rangpur gin, lemon, and blackberry liqueur, creating a perfect balance of sweet and sour flavours with a fruity essence – so lovely I had 2! & Cosmic Monsoon; Glittery Spiced Rum, Indian Plum, Lime & Ginger Ale.

The service here was very friendly, welcoming and they were great with the drinks… I actually left the restaurant pretty drunk haha. I’d totally forgotten when I booked it I mentioned it was a birthday celebration and they brought over a slice of choc fudge cake and a little birthday card. The cake was SCRUMPTIOUS 😋 The only strange thing was for a Saturday afternoon, there weren’t many people there at all and I have no idea why, it was a lovely Bottomless Brunch/food was fabulous.

The restaurant itself is modernly decorated well and with memorabilia of the bustling streets of Delhi and is a really nice setting to enjoy a meal in. We would highly recommend you give this Restaurant a visit and you MUST try the Butter Chicken Fondue.

Opening Hours; Monday, Wednesday & Thursday 4pm – 10pm, Friday, Saturday &...

So will start off by saying the quality and standard of food is bang on the money...top notch and will definitely be booking again.

I've rated the service as 4 as I was expecting the starter and main course to have an Interval between them like in most establishments, but it all came together. I've reflected on maybe why this happened and can only assume they want you to experience the Delhi culture in real life and maybe that's how food is served in India!

It was mentioned to the waitress who said that if we wanted an interval between courses then they would do this if it was expressed at the start of the meal. She was extremely pleasant with the explanation and willing to accommodate our wish for next time.

Now the atmosphere...the restaurant is setup with a live stream on a large TV of Delhi with a street view and traffic / people. The toilets have horns pipping through speakers demonstrating the Delhi experience. Once you get your head around what the establishment is trying to offer the clientelle I totally get it and it works. For our visit on Saturday at 8pm their were only about 4 tables eating, the remainder were empty including all of downstairs. My partner has said that when she frequently drives past its always busy so we must have chosen a night where other events were taking place like the candlelight experience at the Minster and Take that tribute at Fire Station. The lack of people didn't spoil the night as we make our own company and conversation.

The 10% service charge can be removed off the bill and i would suggest this shouldn't be added onto the bill but left at the discretion of the customer to leave a tip.

So overall I fully enjoyed the food and will definitely be...

Tried to book online but said there was something wrong. Telephoned the restaurant after quite a while a rather sharp, curt and snappy lady answered the phone. I asked to book a table and was quite dismissively informed that they didn't book tables over the phone only on the website. I explained the problem. I was then informed they must be fully booked but if we came down they would have a table for us. I was puzzled how it could be both. When we went into the restaurant, the lady who sharp, snappy, dismissive acting like we were an inconvenience. She turned suddenly in to my best friend which made me suspicious. She did give me a delicious veggie menu recommendation of smoked Aubergine curry, dhal and cheese nann which was recommended Waiters were, friendly, polite, professional, very quick. The food. The food was delicious, plenty of very adventurous. Loved the smoked Aubergine and dhal . Food arrived very quickly. All delicious and superbly cooked. Phone attitude needs to improve but will return. Xo
