Stayed at this premier inn last weekend for the Great North Run. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by 2 ladies, who were so friendly and this started off our weekend great! All the people we came across, from the staff in the premier inn, to other places we had visited in Newcastle were THE most friendliest people we have ever come across! ||We rocked up at 1pm and were pleased to hear our rooms were ready. Car unloaded and off we went to have a dry run of my route to get to the start of the GNR for the following day. The metro was a short 10 minute (if that) walk away from the hotel. ||Room was spacious, as they always are in a premier inn. The bathroom was a little dirty with remnants of some blue shower gel on a tile, but other than that, nothing to complain about in the room.||The following morning I was overwhelmed to see a table in reception, full of bottles of water, safety pins, plasters and lots of bananas (had I known they were going to do this, I wouldn’t have gone searching for a shop to buy some the previous evening!). Such a lovely touch! ||My siblings ate breakfast on Sunday morning and reported to me it was delicious! (We did all eat breakfast together on Monday morning before we left and it was lovely!).||We did have dinner plans on Sunday evening elsewhere, however we had to cancel, due to the journey back from south shields taking so long. Once we got back to the Premier Inn, whilst I showered and got out of my running kit, my siblings had a drink in the bar and we were pleased that they were able to seat us so we could eat. ||The food was incredible! We had a sharing platter to start and then we all chose one of the new burgers, which myself and sister couldn’t eat it all! ||The staff in the restaurant were super attentive, without being annoying and in your face. |If I was going to that part of the country again (we live 7 hours away), I would definitely choose to stay here again! ||You should be very proud of your staff! They all made us feel extremely welcome and made for an enjoyable stay! ||As with all of my Premier Inn stay reviews I leave..the rooms could do with an upgrade of a fridge put in them! However, this will not stop me staying in a Premier Inn...

All premier inn Hotels should be like this one! Went for magic weekend in Newcastle and thank god I stayed here. We parked up in the university car park and met Rhiannon and Michelle at reception where they both helped and pointed us to the direction of the car park that had the cheapest parking and only a 2 minute walk from the hotel. We asked if we could have dinner on the Friday night and breakfast on the Saturday morning and we got told about the meal deal which was both included as a 2 course meal for dinner and a drink and unlimited breakfast with unlimited drinks. On the night Ryan was so polite and friendly having a laugh and joke with him which is what ever front of house worker should be like. The room was very nice and they were very efficient with catering to our every need including a fan for the room. Just a massive shout out to Rhiannon, Michelle and of course Ryan for making our weekend even better even though our team lost at...

If I was paying for this stay I'd demand a refund!

The service on day 1 of 4 had me wanting to leave. 50 minutes wait for a burger and chips in the restaurant. The room had an uncomfortable bed and a constant noise from the extraction fan, despite it being switched off.

The duty manager moved me to another room only for the fan to be even noiser. This was remedied by putting me back to original room and having maintenance look at the fault. Pity he didn't clean up the mess he made in the process and reception thought it could wait until morning.

2nd night I was rudely awakened at 4am by the noise from the adjoining room. Reception came and spoke to them once despite being called twice.

Terrible experience

All this will be fed back to my company and I'll suggest alternative accommodation for...

If I could give this hotel zero stars I would. I checked in, placed my bags in the room then decide I'll go eat at the restaurant. The barman lets me know the restaurant has delays because they are short staffed and have high demand. I go eat out and come back to the hotel, decide I'll check if its clean, didn't really inspect it earlier, mistake I made. I notice the shower has a pubic hair, I request to change room, the receptionist comes up has a look and apologises. She gives me a new room, this room has a hair under the duvet. I go back down and change rooms again and this shower has a long hair that isn't my hair. By this time I am so tired I wash it away. My advice is to not book this hotel, there is poor hygiene, the rooms dont seem to have been cleaned at all. I will also be making a complaint.

Absolutely loved are visit from the minute we walked in we were welcomed with a friendly manner whilst waiting for room my daughter who is autistic got chatting to I believe one of the managers (Ross) she had mentioned it was her bday week we decided to leave are bags and go town centre while the room was being finished of we came back checked in and when to room where we found a lovely little surprise for my daughter bday now bear in mind I didn't put anything in the booking about it being her bday it was just a conversation had in passing so for them to go out and do this was above and beyond and we are very thankful it made my daughters day.

Not so premier inn! Service from the gent on reception was very pleasant. He was very helpful. However, it's not as the advert stipulates, there were tissues just left by the elevators, one of which was out of order. The room was very basic, no table in the room, laminate was peeling off the headboard of the bed, the net curtain looked old and worn. Tables at breakfast were very small and they expected two of us to sit at one tiny table, and when we asked to sit at a table with more room we were abruptly told we have lots of other guests coming. There was actually plenty of room the entire time we were in the breakfast room.
