Stayed at this premier inn last weekend for the Great North Run. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by 2 ladies, who were so friendly and this started off our weekend great! All the people we came across, from the staff in the premier inn, to other places we had visited in Newcastle were THE most friendliest people we have ever come across! ||We rocked up at 1pm and were pleased to hear our rooms were ready. Car unloaded and off we went to have a dry run of my route to get to the start of the GNR for the following day. The metro was a short 10 minute (if that) walk away from the hotel. ||Room was spacious, as they always are in a premier inn. The bathroom was a little dirty with remnants of some blue shower gel on a tile, but other than that, nothing to complain about in the room.||The following morning I was overwhelmed to see a table in reception, full of bottles of water, safety pins, plasters and lots of bananas (had I known they were going to do this, I wouldn’t have gone searching for a shop to buy some the previous evening!). Such a lovely touch! ||My siblings ate breakfast on Sunday morning and reported to me it was delicious! (We did all eat breakfast together on Monday morning before we left and it was lovely!).||We did have dinner plans on Sunday evening elsewhere, however we had to cancel, due to the journey back from south shields taking so long. Once we got back to the Premier Inn, whilst I showered and got out of my running kit, my siblings had a drink in the bar and we were pleased that they were able to seat us so we could eat. ||The food was incredible! We had a sharing platter to start and then we all chose one of the new burgers, which myself and sister couldn’t eat it all! ||The staff in the restaurant were super attentive, without being annoying and in your face. |If I was going to that part of the country again (we live 7 hours away), I would definitely choose to stay here again! ||You should be very proud of your staff! They all made us feel extremely welcome and made for an enjoyable stay! ||As with all of my Premier Inn stay reviews I leave..the rooms could do with an upgrade of a fridge put in them! However, this will not stop me staying in a Premier Inn...
Read moreAll premier inn Hotels should be like this one! Went for magic weekend in Newcastle and thank god I stayed here. We parked up in the university car park and met Rhiannon and Michelle at reception where they both helped and pointed us to the direction of the car park that had the cheapest parking and only a 2 minute walk from the hotel. We asked if we could have dinner on the Friday night and breakfast on the Saturday morning and we got told about the meal deal which was both included as a 2 course meal for dinner and a drink and unlimited breakfast with unlimited drinks. On the night Ryan was so polite and friendly having a laugh and joke with him which is what ever front of house worker should be like. The room was very nice and they were very efficient with catering to our every need including a fan for the room. Just a massive shout out to Rhiannon, Michelle and of course Ryan for making our weekend even better even though our team lost at...

The service on day 1 of 4 had me wanting to leave. 50 minutes wait for a burger and chips in the restaurant. The room had an uncomfortable bed and a constant noise from the extraction fan, despite it being switched off.
The duty manager moved me to another room only for the fan to be even noiser. This was remedied by putting me back to original room and having maintenance look at the fault. Pity he didn't clean up the mess he made in the process and reception thought it could wait until morning.
2nd night I was rudely awakened at 4am by the noise from the adjoining room. Reception came and spoke to them once despite being called twice.
Terrible experience
All this will be fed back to my company and I'll suggest alternative accommodation for...
