The atmosphere was lovely and it was so aesthetic even from the outside. The table was with 10 people and the seating was still very spacious for us all. I ordered a coke and it was £3.75. The starter came out with reasonable time. I ordered a ‘pil pil’, seasoned fries and Korean chicken. The pil pil was lovely however the sourdough bread was burnt and had a small piece of tissue on it. I let my waitress know and she immediately rectified the situation. She got me new fresh hot bread and apologised for the accident. However my Korean chicken didn’t arrive on time but when I told Grace about the situation she quickly brought out a fresh plate of Korean chicken. She was so attentive to the needs of our big table. She made sure we had jugs of cold ice water and she ensure we had enough condiments for our food. I didn’t order a main as my 2 starters and seasoned fries was very much more than enough. I was stuffed by the end of my food. (Thank God for stretchy trousers). My food came up to £23.25 and for the amount of food and the great service it was worth it. I would recommend this to anyone as they had many different options for everyone. Examples being noodles, katsu chicken curry, burgers and small plates. On average each person spent between £20-£30. Special shout-out to our waitress Grace for the great customer service. Easy to locate and get to as it was a about a 10 minute walk from the Sunderland metro station.

Lovely restaurant in the centre of Sunderland. Large cocktail list available with both alcoholic and non alcoholic cocktails available. The food was really tasty and the highlight of the visit. I highly recommend the Piri Piri hanging kebab, it comes with garlic pitta, coleslaw and a choice of chips or rice. Sourdough loaf was too tough to eat but was served hot with lots of butter. The service was a bit slow (it wasn’t super busy), it felt slightly rushed. The tables are small for the size of the plates especially when you have a hanging kebab with sides. There isn’t a lot of space between the tables so when it is busy it becomes a maze to get around. It’s a great place to grab a drink as there is an area at the front just for drinks with a large bar and live music. There is also outside space available for the summer. Overall the food and drinks were a winner but the service and cramped atmosphere let it down.

I was here with my friend yesterday evening. We ordered the sea bass and the chicken schnitzel that comes with a green garlic butter. This was the first time i had this dish. When it came, the "garlic butter" came in a iron ladle thing. I dipped it to taste and it was disgusting. Tasted like grass in oil. It had no garlic butter taste to it at all. I therefore ate my schnitzel dry. When the waitress came to collect the dishes, i enquired about the butter and she smelled it and went to ask the chef what it was. She said it was green godess sauce and not the garkic butter, and apologised for the error. Had i known that this was not the butter, i would have asked about it earlier. My friend had the sea bass but it also had the green godess sauce around her dish that she had to pour away. I don't know how anyone would have been able to stomach that green godess sauce, and the sheer quantity of it would have upset anyone's stomach. The food was a lot pricer than the quality associated with that meal. £17 for dry chicken and chips, and £20 for a slither of sea bass on couscous. I was still hungry afterwards. The service was very slow. The pub itself and atmosphere was lovely. The live music was good. I like it there but was disappointed by the meal. Perhaps i should have chosen something else, but i think the least they could have done for getting my order wrong was to offer a small discount. I would be happy to go there again but try a...

Well. First visit here with high expectations after reading reviews.

Nice environment but all the plastic foliage was dusty and dull and too near the food for my liking.

The menu seemed expensive but surely they are good sized portions for that price? Nope! We got 3 hanging kebabs between 2 of us and it still didn't fill us!

It was very dark and my son questioned a piece of chicken that looked bloody. The waitor took it to the kitchen and returned saying chef said it was just a vein. No 'sorry', no replacement piece of chicken 😕.

Still hungry we ordered the sharing cookie dough. It came on a dusty foliage decorated stand with a small skillet of cookie dough. The toppings came in small plant pots which were cute. We were a pit of popping candy missing from our order and the waitress went to check. She returned saying they were out if stock .... no alternative offered... no apology.. just 'we don't have any'. That's just not good enough for the prices we were paying.

The female waitress was really pleasant and friendly and obviously doing her very best and she is the only reason I paid the automatically added 20% service charge!.

So for 2 people to have a meal and dessert and to pay £70 and still not come out feeling full or happy my vote definitely does NOT go to this place.

Sorry but just...
