I was given s £20 voucher for Christmas from my granddaughter. Every time I visited the tea room I found it to be shut. Today it was open but the voucher had run out. They would not honour the voucher. They got £20 for nothing. I will never in my life go back there. What a rip off. The prices are to high. In reply to your negative message I have visited your tea room about six times and it was shut. The last time there was scaffolding outside and workmen and I asked them if it was open. But as usual you were closed. I'm not being negative I'm just telling you the facts. You have taken £20 and I never even got a cup of tea. This is daylight robbery . I came in with my daughter today for an afternoon tea which was donated by the family of a patient from St Benedicts Hospice as an appreciation to the volunteers who work there, of which I am one. All of the volunteers were put in a draw and I was so lucky to have been drawn out as the winner. The food and service was 5*. Very friendly and pleasant staff, who couldn't do enough for us. Unfortunately we couldn't eat it all as there was so much. So we brought the rest home in lovely boxes to enjoy later. But what we had was absolutely beautiful. This was the best pâtisserie I’ve had in Sunderland so far. I’m from South Korea, where pâtisserie has developed significantly, heavily influenced by Japanese desserts as well as French tradition. While I’ve enjoyed many delicious foods during my time in the UK, I’ve rarely been truly satisfied with patisseries. But the fresh cream cake here was absolutely delightful!❤️ The fruit decoration and cream were both fresh, and I really enjoyed that it wasn’t overly sweet. The price also felt very reasonable to me (cakes tend to be quite expensive in Korea😂). Definitely go again and recommend...
