WOO LOT Chinese Takeaway — Restaurant in Sunderland

Having ordered from this take away as a regular customer over the past year we were very annoyed at the way the staff handled our incorrect food order, having ordered chicken kung po it turned up with prawns, beef and pork. Not only do innot eat pork or prawns but prawns actually make me very ill.

Having complained - the staff didn’t seem very apologetic and although they did offer to refund the incorrect part of the order we found ourselves having to argue on our door step at 10pm because they wouldn’t refund the order unless we provided them back with the incorrect main. Despite me explaining we binned it I ended up having to go into the bin to retrieve it and give back to them.

Very disappointing, mistakes happen which I totally appreciate but Woo Lot put us in an awkward and frustrated position and offered very little in terms of empathy or customer service to a frequent customer.

Food was surprising, the other takeaways nearby put far too much msg on. This takeaway cooks traditional with soul.

I will be trying everything in the menu. I ordered chicken balls with beef ginger sauce and boiled rice. They cooked it in less than 5 minutes. Food was hearty and well made.

Guy on the till was polite and spoken clear English. Very happy.

Last time I’m coming here. Unless the lad is on the counter you can’t get an order right. Food is usually very good but when sauces are missing or the order isn’t right spoils it. Tonight spent £37 and no curry sauce. Not the end of the world but never answered the phone when called and it’s not the first time.
