Unfortunately we had one of our worst Indian dining experiences EVER! Firstly, not only did the waiter get our food order wrong, when we highlighted one of the dishes was the exact duplicate of the other, all they did was go away to the kitchen and use the same dish and add some sauce to it! We were expected to eat something we had not ordered! We are Indian so know exactly what each dish should taste like. Nothing about the dishes we ordered was authentic! More over, when we asked to speak to the manager, he told us the flavours had been altered to fit the “western” palate”!!! We were shocked at this revelation! Food that is meant to good and authentic, should not need altering to fit any palate! Despite all the issues - which meant we were left waiting for some time and in the end only had two dishes amongst the 4 of us, no compensation was offered or apology, rather the manager tried to defend the absolute poor food that were bought to us. Never have we experienced such poor customer experience or lack of compensation.! Safe to say, this was the first and last time we will be attending. Ps.. if you are looking to order the popodums they charge u for the chutneys/sauces that every other restaurant would Never dare to, it’s like ordering some water and they charge you for the glass!
I’m quite shocked at your reply to completely dismiss and Deny events that occurred during our visit as outlined in my review. I can’t say I’m surprised after the way the dining experience was handled. We spoke to 3 different employees during our visit with issues we were experiencing including one of them being the owner who is the one that made the comment about tastes being altered! To clarify, my review was a true statement of our experience contrary to how you would like to interpret that. As for the chutneys, we were charged for that, receipt I have, but we asked for them to be removed since we were not asked by the waiter or told they were chargeable. It is not common practice that customers are charged for chutneys, I can name 10 restaurants if not more where this is simply not the case. I think your response and the lack of accountability just sums up our...
Read moreI have never reviewed Indo. I have been here many times though. This occasion was really good. Unusually quiet for a saturday however. Good news for us because that meant we had great service. We ordered drinks and shortly after ordered our food. We were sat about 5 metres from the bar area which was good for us. Our popadoms arrived accompanied by manog chutney, and some spicy sauces too. Around a 10 minutes wait and the mains started to appear from the kitchen. We were a party of 5 so expect quite a bit of food. This is illustrated in the pictures. My Chicken Xacuti was very nice, also very spicy. Added on my plate was bombay aloo, onion bhaji and pilau rice. To the top, was the garlic naan which is my favourite. I devoured my food and also helped on some other dishes as well. Chicken Chom chom (spicy) , Lamb Korma and chicken tikka masala. Overall the main courses were really nice and also size wise, it is enough for one hungry person to have. The dessert which was a combination of vanilla and caramel ice cream with chocolate bits on top and also as a base layer. Quite a nice way to end the meal to be honest.
Indo has had its ups and downs in serivce, in the past. They just need to work on management of all the tables. Our service and food was great on this evening. Looking forward...
Read moreWe have driven past this restaurant several times and the exterior and general décor looked ‘good’, so we decided to give it a try when celebrating my wife’s birthday. We were not disappointed. We were greeted in a very friendly and polite manner, shown to our table and settled down nicely. The staff are attentive, but not ‘pushy’; there was no rush or hassling to sell us some drinks and take our order. We were given ample time to study the menu as well as the wine list, both of which are extensive and not overpriced, plus there is a reasonable number of beer options available. Our starters and main courses were both excellent. For me, I judge an Indian meal not just on the taste but on the amount of meat in the main dish; I was not disappointed on both counts. My wife always judges Indian restaurants on the quality of the vegetable curry that comes with a Biryani dish; we have been to a large number of Indian restaurants only once! The vegetable curry she was served was the first since her youth in Staffordshire that actually came up to her high expectations of fresh, in season vegetables properly cooked. Not a trace of a Bird’s Eye frozen mix veg package to be seen! We will definitely...
