We chose this restaurant to celebrate our second wedding anniversary after a recommendation from a friend who has previously dined here. As steak fans we like to try out the independent/smaller chain steak restaurants, rather than head straight to you know who! I made our reservation on-line, as it was for a special occasion I thought I’d request a little artistic anniversary writing on our dessert plate in the notes/requests section. As it happens we were too full for dessert but as a very kind gesture they still brought out a lovely decorated slate which was a nice surprise for my wife. (Thank you guys 👌🏼) Upon arrival our table wasn’t quite ready so they suggested we order drinks at the bar, which actually I quite like doing anyway, kinda settles you in to a restaurant. Within minutes we were seated at our table being attended to by our server, Jack. To start, we often like to share dishes so we ordered up the Chicken & Chorizo Bon Bons, which were nice. Alongside their Garlic King Prawns which I have to say were absolutely delicious 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼. Honestly, I can’t recommend these enough. Usually for our main course we’d both be ordering Filet Steak, or a Chateaubriand to share. However, I was particularly hungry so unusually I went for the 14oz Black Angus Ribeye. It was nice but after seeing my wife’s Fillet wished I’d of just gone for that as whilst the Ribeye was nice it wasn’t exceptional like I find so often when ordering Fillet, which by the way she loved. Our only slight negative which we both agreed upon was the fries were a little overcooked. Our server for the evening, Jack, is a pleasant guy with wit & charm by the bucket loads. For a young guy he’s very good at his job helped by his social nature. The restaurant itself is nicely fitted out. Very busy when we first arrived on a Thursday evening at 7:30pm, not what you’d expect but I guess that’s a good sign right? We dined for approximately 2hrs by which point most folk had left for home. We parked in the Atrium car park which has escalators and lifts making this place easily accessible. It’s not the cheapest by any means but I’d say typically similar to most independents we’ve found.

Although there are other choices on the menu, this is a really good restaurant if you are a steak lover. We'd eaten here before and so we knew what to expect. The dining area is a decent size with a well-stocked bar. The tables are simple and not fussy (which I like), and waiters are attentive, but not in your face. They are also very knowleagible about the food and are happy to give advice, if requested. When we went, there was an à la carte menu and a more limited lunch menu. We opted for the former and started with the trio of dips (tzatziki, hummus and guacamole) served with warm pitta bread. We decided to share this because it was a fairly substantial plate of food. All of the dips were very tasty and not swimming in olive oil which was a definite plus. We ordered the 16oz ribeye steak and an 8oz sirloin, both cooked according to the recommendation on the menu. These were accompanied by salads and some garlic mushrooms. We couldn't fault the steaks, as they were cooked to perfection, as were the mushrooms. This is not a cheap meal, but you do get what you pay for, and although it costs a bit extra compared with prices at other restaurants, it's definitely worth it for a decent, reliably cooked steak.

I ordered the Beer Battered fish and chips, the fish was immensely large, moist, and well seasoned. The chips were crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside and again, very well seasoned. The one thing I’d change about the meal was that the peas were a little flat in flavour. Our server, Robbie was very friendly and offered a polite, friendly service. He did his job well as he even performed the “upsell” on one of my family members. The environment is very welcoming and extravagant. With its dimly lit atmosphere and its blended wall colouring, it is a very unique and well thought out place. For dessert, I ordered the Chocolate Brownie. Absolutely would recommend, with its warm interior and crunchy, chocolatey exterior, the chocolate flavour really pops out. The decadent ice cream also adds to its flavour, contrasting the temperature between the two desserts. Its vanilla flavouring was very present. Also, I must add the plating was very good, even swirls of chocolate drizzle, symmetrical style when plating. Overall, very pleasing to the eyes on both courses. I highly recommend the Golden Bull, even if it is a tiny bit pricey 9.7/10 :D

A Golden Experience at Golden Bull! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

If you're ever wondering where steak meets stand-up comedy, look no further than Golden Bull Steakhouse - Camberley. A place where the food is divine and the service? Legendary.

From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat, but I wasn’t prepared to meet the true star of the evening: Jack—the man, the myth, the maître d' of mirth. This guy isn’t just a server, he’s a full-on experience. Think of him as the James Bond of hospitality, but instead of martinis and espionage, it’s ribeyes and punchlines.

Jack’s customer service was impeccable, and his charm? Dangerously high levels. He made every guest feel like royalty while dishing out more laughs than a Netflix special. His jokes came in faster than the steak hit the grill—and that steak was cooked to absolute perfection, by the way.

Need a refill? Jack's already on it. Looking confused? Jack’s there with a joke and a solution. Considering skipping dessert? Jack will convince you otherwise, and somehow make you laugh while doing it. I'm not saying Jack should run for office... but I'd vote for him.

So here's my advice: come for the steak, stay for Jack. This man is a rare (pun intended) gem in the hospitality world. I’ve dined in places with chandeliers worth more than my car, but none have offered an experience as memorable as an evening at Golden Bull with Jack steering the ship.

Five stars, a standing ovation, and a toast to Jack—the true golden bull of Golden Bull.

PS: If Jack remembers the lively table in the corner on April 7th at 1800 - the two asian bloke cracking up at every joke- you bet one of them is...

I recently visited Golden Bull for lunch and had an exceptional dining experience. We opted for both the lunch menu and the set menu, and from start to finish, everything was delightful.

Our waiter, Paulo, provided outstanding service. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and showed true dedication to his job. Paulo ensured that we were well taken care of and maintained the restaurant's cleanliness to a high standard, which added to the pleasant dining environment.

The food was nothing short of fantastic. We started with the cream mushrooms, a baked mushroom dish topped with rich, flavorful cheese. It was a delicious and satisfying way to begin our meal. For the main courses, we tried the rib-eye, rump steak, and sea bass. Each dish was perfectly cooked. The rib-eye and rump were tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, while the sea bass was fresh, cooked just right, and free from any unpleasant fishy odor. The dishes were served at the ideal temperature, and the seasoning was well-balanced, highlighting the natural flavors without overpowering them.

For dessert, we enjoyed the brownie, crème brûlée, and profiteroles. All three were outstanding—rich in chocolate flavor, not overly sweet, and the perfect ending to our meal.

Our lunch at Golden Bull was a truly wonderful experience. The combination of excellent service, especially from Paulo, and the delicious offerings from both the lunch and set menus made it a meal to remember. We will definitely...
