I've always enjoyed how relaxed 7Bone staff are with the customers and how friendly and casual the atmosphere is. Until my most recent visit. There were only 2 people working the floor and 2 runners. My bf and I were shunted into a table hidden away and immediately advised to use the app to order. Great, I came out to get off my phone and now you're making me use my phone to place my order. I can't just order drinks first and then think about food, no I have to pay for it when I order so I have to do it at once.
The restaurant was not busy but it was severely lacking in front of house staff. I find it ridiculous that the app asks you to leave a tip before your order is put through with a suggestion of 20%. What exactly am I tipping for though? The runner who is doing the job they are being paid for by bringing our food out? This isn't America. Staff are paid a NMW, tipping is for good service not a guarantee of service which is exactly what the staff at the time thought it was. The table after us ordered milkshakes after we had made our order yet their drinks arrived before ours presumably due to the discussion about how much of a tip they should leave.
It took 40 minutes from ordering for our food to come out the burgers were overdone as was my side and staff were absolutely nowhere to be seen so no complaints could be made. The one time they did come over both my bf and I had just taken a bite and they vanished before we could say anything.
The amount of to go orders flying out of the kitchen though. Never had an issue ordering off deliveroo or pick up. Food has always been perfect so it's a shame they can't treat their physical customers' food the same way. Guess I'll go back to ordering online and eating in the comfort of my own home rather than the discomfort of the...
Read moreThis place is very easy to get to - it's a short stroll from the main exit of The Atrium. If you're parked in the Atrium car park, turn left out of the exit and walk until you see it. Staff are pleasant and friendly and most helpful - I was asked if I'd been before and when I said no I had the menu sections described to me which was nice. But you want to know if the burgers are worth it. Yes they 100% are! The beef was absolutely sublime. I struggled to finish mine, but that's only because I was a big fat pig and ordered a triple burger because it was my birthday. They unfortunately only offer pink or well done on the burgers - nothing in between, which was a bit disappointing. Also a disappointment was the discovery that they don't have ANY puddings - so if you do have room left after your hot dog or burger you're out of luck. The side order I had was a massive let down. I had "onion straws", which turned out to be tiny bits of onion lightly battered. Because they were such thin, tiny slivers of onion, you could only taste fatty batter and certainly could not taste onion. They had a lovely selection of milkshakes though. The music level is comfortable - not too ridiculously loud - and I do still have very good hearing to assess this. So all in all 3 disappointments, but the helpful attitude of the staff, efficient service, the high quality of the burgers, reasonable pricing and also great cleanliness of the place lifts my score back up to its well earned 5 stars. I've included 3 photos I took...
Read moreFirst off the bat when you walk in- the layout is fantastic. The bar is situated in the middle of the open spaced restaurant, so you can easily walk there from anywhere in the room within a few strides. The kitchen is along the back wall of the restaurant and is open so you can see them cooking, a feature I particularly enjoy. The staff are very upbeat and welcoming, can't do enough for you. You literally cannot fault them, they really stick to their training. As for the food.. I REALLY rate their loaded fries and milkshakes. The dark chocolate milkshake is superb, not bitter as dark chocolate can be but heavy in cocoa flavour. The chilli cheese fries are excellent as are the normal cheese fries. In fact I usually go and just order cheese fries and a dark chocolate milkshake- these are my favourites from the menu. The burgers are fab and very filling, very enjoyable in comparison to other burger chains. However, not as mouth watering as 5 guys. The hotdog I wasn't overly impressed with, in fact I think I prefer a whetherspoons chilli cheese dog, however this might just be down to personal preference. I have been around 4 times now and every single experience has been enjoyable. I highly recommend visiting and will continue to visit. Thank you and...
