Nando's Camberley — Restaurant in Surrey Heath

I have visited this Nando’s counteless times over the years, it being muy closest one. Whilst it has always been incredible my last visit shone above the rest. Whilst I love Nando’s sauces I had often thought none were truly challenging in terms of their spice. As a huge spice fan I look for spicy sauces that many would (understandably) think I was crazy to eat. I thought Nandos lacked this until I had my last visit.

It was a first date and keen to impress my date I ordered the hottest sauce on my Chicken Butterfly. This was no longer the extra hot option I was used to, this was Peri-Peri Vusa XX Hot sauce. We ordered our food and surely we had our food in an excellent time. I took one bite and the battle began….

I took two more bites before realising my mistake. The sauce had exceeded my expectations and whilst it tasted incredible and the chicken was cooked expertly, I struggled. My date sat there laughing at me after I had just told her how I am so good with spice. She suggested I stop eating and I responded saying I would not be defeated by a chicken. 5 minutes later I headed to the counter to seek help.

I explained that I was on a date and although I loved the food I needed a glass of milk for the spice and I was happy to pay. Little did I realise on the other side of the counter was a hero, a server named Alex. After a few seconds of laughing at my situation (which was deserved) Alex kindly explained that ice cream would be a better solution, grabbing me a small pot from the machine compliments of the house. This did not save me from embarrassment but it did stop me from sweating or needing medical attention.

When I offered a tip Alex declined. My date has agreed we can go again and I look forward to seeing Alex and his team again soon. Perhaps not with Peri Vusa sauce, but phenomenal customer service and excellent food will be...

Nando's seriously needs to sort out their booking system, or lack there of. We drove our family to our local Nando's they were "fully booked" 3 hour wait. Fair enough it's not a big branch. They suggested we phone ahead to check they are still taking bookings. We phoned this branch (Camberley) at 5:40 pm to do exactly that. We were told that there was currently an hour's wait, and they would definitely still be taking bookings if we came to them. We double checked, as with three young hungry children, there's no point driving so far on the off chance.

Arrived 20 minutes later, only to be told the wait was suddenly at least 2 hours and they'd stopped taking bookings here too.

Called again, to confirm it wasn't out mistake. We were told the wait should be only an hour, hour and 10, and they are still taking bookings... We asked his name and he hesitated then checked and came back to us again saying they had closed the bookings, but it would be on again in an hour or so, and there would be an hour and a half wait, not an hour. Closer to the truth, but still not what we were being told out front. Gave up eventually on the advice of the actual staff.

Visit date: 03/10/2020. One of the worst Nando’s experience I have ever had in life. Our waiting time was 50 minutes to 1 hour (table for 5). We were told to join the virtual queue. After 10 minutes into the virtual queue, they added 20 minutes to our virtual queue. After a long wait we finally got our table.

We order our food and made the payment at 17:13pm. After the payments, no one served us any of our drinks, no condiment nothing. No one came to check on us, every staffs just ignored us. Even when you called them, they said” We’ll be with you in a moment” then they forgot.

We managed to stop a staff, who was serving drinks for the table next to ours. Funny enough those people actually came after us, 20 minutes after us. I showed him my frustration and he finally got us our drink at 17:47pm. We got our drinks after 35 minutes. He said sorry for the delay, but 35 minutes to fix a drink is ridiculous.

Finally, we got our food at 17:58pm after 45 minutes. This is SHOCKING Nando’s standard. The food however was nice & tasty, such a shame with the...
