Appalling place. I frequented last Friday evening with a large mixed age group of people. We had only been in the weatherspoons before for a an hour. We arrived at your venue all together and waited in turn to show ID. I handed over my driving licence to your security. Some of my group had already gone in I was waiting to have my licence returned and I was looking forward to where my friends were. I went through and was then surround by 3 security staff quizzing me as to whether I was intoxicated or on another substance, I was totally thrown by this because as a 47 year old I have never had my character questioned. When I asked why they thought this is was because I hadn't responded to their questions at the door. The only questions I was asked were flirting type banter, which I was not impressed with so didn't return the banter. It was this lack of conversation that had made your security team feel the need to surround me. This was outrageous and very embarrassing. Within a few minutes I was practically knocked to the floor by two young girls running and laughing through the bar area. Seems to me your security staff didn't take kindly to having their flirtatious banter knocked back. All in all I think you have totally lost site of the fact you are just a pub and not a very good one at that. You are only busy as people like music before moving onto something that's open later. This made my evening...
Ā Ā Ā Read morea hideous experience before we even made it to be welcomed to the venue. That was too much to ask! The manager, Sarah, extremely rude and judgemental, had no time to look at us and see for herself and told the bouncer on the door not to let us in. She clearly has no trust for the bouncers she hires to make their own judgement and wants to micro manage them by approving all punters as they walk in. We are clearly not drunk and disorderly, and that was her reason for not letting us in and she blocked us from entering.
I wanted to discuss her reasons with her and waited for a long time to discuss, she was a long time before we got to speak with her as she was dealing with another issue where she unfairly stopped another group coming in. Do they want any business? It was crazy.
Finally I got to speak with her and she said she didnāt have time to look at us and see if we were okay to be let in, let other people in during the time we were waiting to talk with her and responded when I asked why were they allowed to go in, āI have not got eyes in the back of my headā - thatās what the bouncer was there for surely?
After a short time discussing this with her, she invited us in, which we refused and went else where.
I will not...
Read moreJust gave this place a second chance as I have just moved into the area. The first time on a Sunday afternoon was not good - bar staff and duty manager didn't give a hoot regards making customers welcome. Same thing tonight. Went in on the strength of a large street side poster advertising Monday Special - Burger n Pint of Craft Ale for £7.50. Things didn't look good when it turned out the only had one craft ale available on tap; then when I finished my order and got ready to pay the newbie barmaid rang up £11.75; and the manager then proceeded first to tell me that the single Craft ale on tap was a 'guest' , so wasn't available on the special, and then when I challenged that, he then suggested that the Monday special ran out at 6pm on a Monday night!! At that point I left and went to Weatherspoons where the same deal cost me £5.50. As you can imagine the sign outside had no time limit on it. Last time there for me. Shame because it looks such a nice place; until you deal...
