Have had excellent food in here in the past however last time I visited it had gone down hill customer service wise. Staff member tried to give me the dog ends of an emty container filled bowl with rice and a spoonful of nothing!!! Asked her if I could wait for fresh batch she gave me a right old look said nothing and another member of staff told me to go and sit down they would bring it over. A few minutes later she rolls up with a bowl only 3/4 filled mostly with rice went up to serving desk and asked to top up too me looked like same old pot I had refused earlier? It was snatched from my hand half a spoonful was added and given back to me no apologies nothing.
Sat back down halfway through eating the same server came up to me and said it was a different pot of food and I was rude to her to suggest asking to top up??????? Didn't get a chance to reply to her as was in mid mouthful. Roll on a few minutes another woman came over to me introduced herself as the manager and offered no apologies but asked I apologize to her staff member for insinuating she had given me the same pot of food I had rejected earlier, before I could answer my partner asked her no to be so ridiculous and customer service and common courtesy would not go a miss!!!! Quickly a guy from the kitchen runs over grabs his colleague spins round back to the kitchen. We were both left open mouth.

Read moreVisiting Kukoro today for lunch was a disappointing experience. For me it’s a shame how much the prices have increased but the service has worsened. Todays experience epitomise this. We waited 10 minutes in the queue to reach the front only to be told to wait. The employee working our till and two others then proceeded to fulfil what I suspect was a large call in order. No explanation was give, no communication whatsoever. The second till kept asking for the next customer and we were overlooked by five sets of customers. Out till operative said and did nothing. I chose not to wait any longer as I was disgusted my partner waited a total of a further 15 minutes to be served. She then received her prawn Katsu curry and found her medium pot only half full. She questioned this only to be told prawn katsu was only 3 pieces of prawn. No where did it display this and if you consider the meal is £8 so your paying that for 3 small pieces and either rice or noodle. My partner said then she’d like a return or exchange for the tofu option so she actually received a meal for the price but was told flat out no by the store manager.
The overall experience was disappointing from basic courtesy, communication to customer service and end product. For me it’s the final straw as prices have increased too much for the product and the product itself has suffered in quality. My examples are the sweet chilli chicken and katsu chicken being over cooked and dry.
I do hope the service improves for others and the product is once again made with care for taste and not for profit margins...

The server looked very annoyed when we walked it - we found out eventually she was almost at the end of her shift and wanted to clock out already. As she was handing me my bulgogi rice bowl, a piece of meat dropped from the bowl even before I could touch it. She joked, "You lost a piece! It's okay, only one piece". Of course I asked if she could replace it, and her entire demeanour changed to hostile. She made me repeat the request, then very angrily scooped up measly piece of meat. When I asked for another set of cutlery, she scowled at me.
