Really lovely food, the three of us all enjoyed the tapas we ordered. The ribs were so delicious, I asked if I could order a portion to go, they were more than happy to oblige. Only 4* for service is due to a few minor issues. Only 4* Atmosphere as there were only 4-5 tables occupied. 4-5 tables occupied and 4 front of house staff, therefore can not forgive the mistakes mistakes made however they were little things and were rectified without a fuss. I believe, despite being very attentive, there is definitely room for improvement, but this definitely would not put me off going here again. It was a Saturday at 6.30pm, we stayed a good hour and half if not more and it did not get any busier than 4-5 tables...I don't know why...12 delicious tapas, (plus extra portion to take home) desserts and sangria for 3 @Ā£47ish each, attentive service, 5* heigine rating, clean and attractive venue, with a nice friendly atmosphere...this place should be far busier on a Saturday evening. So if you haven't tried Nero's Kitchen and you like Mediterranean style tapas (main meals also available, if you're not a sharer) then book yourself a table and enjoy some sangria and a delicious table of dishes to share (or not) and if you enjoy it the food as much as we did please give them a mention and help fill those tables like they deserve. Thank you for the delicious food and good service, we hope to see you again soon, but right now, we are so full and satisfied that we just can't think about a next time right now! But we...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām so glad I tried this place after passing loads of times and promising myself I would (being a fan of tapas). The menu is brilliant. It blends traditional Spanish tapas with less āauthenticā dishes in order to cater to all tastes - I guarantee thereās something on the menu for everyone.
I highly recommend the gambas (prawns). They are massive. I was a fan of every dish I ordered to be honest, but the albondigas (meatballs) are also awesome. The portions are quite big and definitely sharing portions so this is worth bearing in mind before you get giddy and order everything on the menu!! I saw so many diners leave with doggie bags. Remember you can always order more as you go.
Also got to meet the Spanish chef and practice a bit of speaking vocab, which is nice. Our server was a lady called Michelle (I think she might be the owner or manager) who was literally hospitality personified.
Finally, the sangria is lovely. Made authentically with proper red wine. Iāve been to places that use a mix even in Spain, that leaves a saccharine aftertaste - so to have proper sangria made in the UK and on my doorstep was a real treat.
Already planning the next visit for their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame in for a family meal and sadly left very unhappy.
It started with being given the wrong starter. When I pointed this out, the staff blamed it on a new menu and said the kitchen team wasnāt familiar with it yet. They assured me the correct starter would be sent out, but after a long waitāand after my family had already finished their startersāit still hadnāt arrived.
Then the manager brought out our mains, placing them on the table abruptly without even clearing the starter plates. The whole experience felt rushed and unprofessional. I reminded him I still hadnāt received my starter and asked for it to be removed from the bill since it was clearly too late. He said it was still coming, but at that point, it was pointless.
To make matters worse, the mains were disappointingācold chips and undercooked chicken skewers. When we received the bill, I was shocked to see Iād been charged for both the incorrect starter and the one that never even arrived.
The overall atmosphere was uncomfortable, and the staff were dismissive and rude. This was meant to be a pleasant family outing, but it turned out to be a frustrating and disappointing experience. I definitely wonāt...
