Greggs — Restaurant in Tandridge

One of the most odd experiences I’ve ever had. I went into order a sausage sandwich and then the weirdness started. I was told to take 2 steps to my right as I was stood in the wrong place relative to the till. I then ordered a sausage sandwich with ketchup and was told I ordered it incorrectly and it was called a sausage roll and that it was against policy to tell her the sauce I wanted that early so she’d have to ask me later. She then immediately asked me what sauce I wanted. I repeated ketchup and she said I ordered it wrong and it was called red sauce.

I walked out and won’t be going there again.

FYI a sausage roll to me is the pastry one so I think Greggs could do a better job of distinguishing between the 2 and not telling the customer they’re wrong to...

Well I thought I been a few times to see if the place has changed and no.

8:30am and the food is cold. The coffee is as sharp as the woman on the front counter. Witch leads me on too the woman who works the morning service, the level of passive aggressive knows no bounds to this lady. Possibly the most plastic angry person I have ever had to deal with in any store. Asked me questions sharply and almost like a direct attack, when I apologised and mentioned I have partial hearing she rudely cut me off and said so am I and placed the food on the counter with a thud. Seriously this woman is Direct rude and looks at you as though you’re beneath her.

Very disappointed! At 9am I brought a pasty and sausage roll to eat straight away from the Caterham branch however after walking outside the shop I found out that both products were stone cold, (were they yesterdays left overs?) after taking them back in to the shop the assistant said that the oven wasn't working.

SURELY HE SHOULD OF TOLD ME THIS BEFORE I MADE PAYMENT, ESPECIALLY AS I HAVE BEEN CHARGED VAT FOR HOT FOOD!

I SHOULD OF ASKED FOR A REFUND HOWEVER, I WAS SO ANNOYED I ENDED UP THROWING BOTH PASTY AND SAUSAGE AWAY.........I WILL NOW MAKE A POINT AND NOT SHOP IN GREGGS AGAIN!

Please be aware, charging VAT for hot food, and given cold food is sure a tax fraud?
