Meddy grill & meze — Restaurant in Teignbridge

OUTSTANDING. Great location with a really welcoming set of staff. Quickly seated and order for drinks taken whilst we perused the menu. Extensive. What a wonderful delightful selection. All you could possibly wish for. Invitation to watch the chef at work from behind glass of the open kitchen. Great. The starters were plentiful and a really wide selection. We chose the hot as well as the cold platter. Really well prepared and well presented. Main courses were timed so we were clearing starters as the main course arrived. And what a delight they were. Plenty of cross plate sharing went on. Beautifully cooked with sauce/glaze that enhanced every mouthful. Chops were succulent and tender, chicken was better than just' chicken. Rice was good and salad probably just too much to deal with so don't complain things were not generous. The atmosphere in the whole restaurant for the whole evening reflected the effort put in by the owner and his team. Really excellent, relaxed and jolly. I wholly recommend this place for an evening with family or friends for a really great evening out. Well done to all at the restaurant, you made a great event. Thank you.

So good is the experience here, we've been again, on a quiet Thursday evening. Again, superb service, superb food, great atmosphere. Top quality experience. I totally recommend a visit here. I almost guarantee a great lamb dish of whatever description there is on the menu. Chicken dishes are equally good and I defy anyone to find more succulent and tasty dinner anywhere.

Had a fantastic evening in this modern well presented and authentic Turkish restaurant. The ambience and atmosphere was enhanced by the tasteful decor and artistic attributions to the dining experience. Service was attentive and polite with engaging staff who were well turned out and made you feel the focus of attention although the restaurant was fully booked. Great to watch the preparation of meals in the kitchen area and grill area which was very clean and well organised. The menus was varied and provided for both vegetarian and meat dishes. I was very impressed with the portions and as I can eat was satisfied in fact very full after a starter and the main. This resteraunt is a first class edition to the choice of eateries in Newton Abbot which to be honest was rather bland. Price wise? Value for money. I dint mind paying for quality and this was quality surpassing my expectations. We spend a lot of time in Turkey and this was spot on . I highly recommend this resteraunt , you wont be dissapointed. What an amazing mid-week experience we had at Meddy!

Firstly, our server was extremely welcoming and attentive. We ordered the set menu and the food was delicious, fresh, perfectly seasoned and the meat was of excellent quality and not excessively greasy (as I have sometimes found it to be at other similar establishments). The presentation was aesthetically pleasing and portions were generous with a great selection.

The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, with very comfortable seating and impeccably clean tables, and well selected lighting; all of which came together to create an overall pleasant and relaxing ambience.

At the end of our meal, the kind owner offered us complimentary baklava - which was delightful - and we were given Turkish delights with our bill - a cherry on the cake!

As a lover of Turkish cuisine, Meddy did not disappoint. We had a truly fantastic evening and are already planning out next visit. Thank you to all the staff for this memorable evening. We would of course highly recommend to all - there is definitely something...
