My reason for 5 stars is not due to the food or drink, but due to the service I received. Itâs a Costa. You expect the same level of food and drink quality at every branch and this one nails it as expected.
What made my experience stand out was the customer service I received at the drive thru. At other places and other brands you would get greeted, usually abruptly, with âWelcome to x. Are you using the app?â
Not today, however. The employee on drive thru at 7:20 on the 5th September 2023 started with âWelcome to Costa. How are you doing today?â This simple question immediately had a positive impact on how I felt. The addition of that simple question just instantly makes the exchange more pleasant on both fronts.
The employee in question also deserves a compliment, as they helped me with the Costa app that wasnât necessarily behaving for me.

   Read moreThe staff in Costa (New St) Andover are incredible. Really young team who are so hard working, polite, friendly and canât do enough for you. I collect a coffee almost every morning from the drive through at 8am and they couldnât be any more accommodating and cheerful. I also pop in at the weekends and have a coffee in and itâs usually heaving - but the service doesnât falter. Recently I forgot my purse when I was in the queue for a drive thru and they kindly made me my morning coffee anyway and trusted me to return to pay later. I would highly recommend anybody visiting here over any other Costa purely down to the staff. Amazing...

After giving my order at the speaker I moved onto the next window to pay and collect my coffee I had ordered.
