The Peking Chinese — Restaurant in Thanet

Did not eat in, ordered a large take out with the family. We don't live in Margate so was a special treat. We ordered a selection of different dishes but mainly chicken based dishes which I'm sad to say were mostly off. I had one piece which tasted a bit odd, then a second which was okay followed by what I can only describe as mouldy chicken. It tasted and smelt soooo bad. Even the chicken in a different dish as soon as I bit into it I had the same smell/taste in my mouth and almost vomited up what little food I had eaten. Unfortunately this then put the entire family off of eating any of the other food we had ordered.

We called the restaurant back and tried to explain the the chicken was off/mouldy and was met with comments such as it's the sauce, it's the type of dish it is, it's our sense of smell, it doesn't smell off etc etc .. they did offer to remake all the dishes again but unfortunately most of the party had at this point began to feel sick and so politely declined and requested a full refund which they seemed reluctant to provide. We returned ALL of the barely touched chicken dishes and then they wanted proof that we hadn't eaten any of our other food (we took a photo of everything left over) so we returned all of that in carrier bags too. They then reluctantly gave us a full refund.

Hopefully this was just a one off but I and the others all know what out of date chicken smells like and frankly didn't appreciate the comments in response to our complaint and the quality of the food. If I could give zero...

𝗚𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗢𝗙𝗙 𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗖𝗞𝗘𝗡!!! We placed a large order for friends and family visiting. Got it home served it all up on plates and the first bite into the sweet and sour chicken...

Every one spat it out and commented that it tasted/smelt rotten and gone off.

We returned the order to be told that the food was fine, so we made them smell the chicken. The reaction through a wincing face was "everyone has different taste" and all our chicken is cooked fresh in the morning. It was now roughly 8:30pm.

They reluctantly gave us a refund after arguing the toss.

One of the kids has already been sick and the rest of us have upset stomachs.
