Rose and Crown - Chorleywood — Restaurant in Three Rivers

My mother, my brother and come to your restaurant tonight. We have visited and eaten there before without problems.

I ordered a cod for myself, my mother ordered cod also instead of informing us at the beginning of the meal we were informed after ordering that there was only one cod left. I let my mother have the cod and I asked what other fish was on the menu, I was told the monkfish would be lovely and so ordered it, after receiving the fish I was disappointed to find that is was rather rubbery and not to my liking. I asked the server over and explained the issue and she recommended the chicken, as eating anything at this point of the evening would have been a pleasantry I agreed, as I received the chicken I was disappointed to find that it had no garnished and bland, it had old vegetables with it and they wanted me to pay £14 for this experience. The boss came over to me after explaining that it was my birthday and her response ' i am not a mind reader' and when asking about the payment for the meal she replied 'don't pay for your meal then' in a very off fashion. She was not polite or approachable.

The last time I had a meal here my brother gave a fantastic review, its a shame you cant keep up good...

Excellent spot - rather low key and appears not to have enough parking but there is a large car park at the rear. The atmosphere is warm and friendly - a lovely pub facing directly onto the delightful Common - a great watering hole if walking the dog requires a brief diversion - and also of course they do absolutely wonderful food - highly recommend this charming venue - it's got an up market neighbourhood feel which is exactly what you would expect in...

Ellátogatunk a vidéki Angliába. Igaz csak városközel-vidék. Golfpálya az út mentén, takaros házak, az étterem előtt egy asztalnál üldögél egy rövidnadrágos ember. Rákérdezek: "nincs túl hideg a kiüléshez?"....rám néz: "Barátom ez Anglia, hol lenne már hideg?"...értem:nem alkuszom, én bemegyek a vendéglő felfűtött terébe. Egyébként a szénszag ott a levegőben...van ahol még ezzel fűtenek. Benn békebeli kép fogad: kutya fekszik a szőnyegen keresztben. Fotelekben, asztaloknál tereferélő vendégek: kik sörrel a kezükben, kik "csak úgy". Nem zavarjuk meg őket, ők sem törődnek velünk. A tulajdonos házaspár kiszolgál. "Tea and scone" miatt jöttünk, ami a tea mellett süteményszerű kenyérke, lekvár és könnyű, már-már habosított vaj. Kétféleképpen kenheted a sütit: előbb a vaj, majd a lekvár, vagy éppen fordítva, előbb a lekvár majd a vaj (most azzal ne törődj, hogy mindkettő ugyanoda kerül, Angliában vagy). Fenséges teasütemény. Katink nagyokat somolyog hozzá. Én maradok a sörnél, abból is a Guinness, hiszen Angliában vagyunk. A délutáni, vidéki Angliában, ahol lelassulnak a mozdulatok, ahol minden...
