A mind altering drug distribution facility. Is there any difference between alcohol and other drugs? Both are mind-altering chemicals. Both are highly addictive. Both can be dangerous. They only differ in their legal status and social acceptability: alcohol is legal, and street drugs aren’t. Because of this, alcohol is everywhere. It’s not only for sale at bars but also at restaurants, gas stations, convenience stores, grocery stores, and all professional sports venues. You can’t watch television without seeing at least one beer, wine, or liquor commercial, promising alcohol will make you the most popular and desirable man or woman at any party. And trust me, drug dealers would kill (probably literally) for the opportunity to advertise their product so publicly.
The availability of alcohol is so commonplace most people don’t realize it’s a real drug. Alcohol has become the socially acceptable way to relax after work. I mean, it’s just a harmless stress-reliever, right?
Wrong. According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, alcohol causes 88,000 (62,000 men and 26,000 women) deaths every year. The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism tells us alcohol shortened the lifespan of those 88,000 by 30 years. That makes alcohol the third leading preventable cause of death in the U.S. All other drugs combined cause approximately 30,000 deaths annually.
It’s no wonder more people enter treatment facilities for alcohol...
Read moreEverything from start to finish was a sham. Upon arrival there was no waiter to seat us to our table. Even though we had reserved our table we were still forced to find our own seating.
Next i was told that my starter which i had booked a week in advance, Was not available. There was no pre warning, nor did they try to contact us to re-arrange another starter. Everything was fine with the starters no complaints there. However when it came to the main meal and sides things took a turn for the worst.
Again i must reiterate that the establishment was quiet. The mains came out cold. Roast potatoes were dry and tasteless, portion size was questionable. And to top ot all off they couldnt even get the sides right as they had missed mine off completely and got another wrong.
Unfortunately the deserts did not redeem them either. My grandmother ordered apple pie and custard And got icecream. When the waiter noticed the error. Instead of taking the desert away and make a fresh one. He left the icecream to melt whilst running into the kitchen to microwave some custard. In the end my grandmother could not eat her apple pie as the icream had made it all soggy.
Overall i would say they the service is shoddy in and out of the kitchen. Unfortunatly the food speaks for that. I would not reconmend this place if you have any self worth whatsoever. There are many other pub and grub restaurants in the area that give excellent service and food. Please stay away from this...
Read moreWe were a table of 12 with a late afternoon booking on a Sunday. We did book in advance and were placed in a quiet part of the pub away from the main bar area. This was great as the children could be themselves and we were not going to disrupt other guests. We were told upon booking that, due to the large table number, we may not be able to have our food served at the same time and that there may be a slight delay for other dishes. This honestly was appreciated so we knew exactly what to expect and in reality I think everyone had their meals within 3-4 minutes which was a fantastic response. The bar staff were great, very helpful and friendly and full of smiles. Similarly for the serving staff who were attentive to our needs but not overbearing either. The price of the children’s desserts and the serving sizes were incredible value for money, I think we paid £1.29 for a two scoop ice cream sundae which all the children devoured. In actual fact, the whole menu was very favourably placed and very good value for money. My only criticism would be of the beef chilli as there was a disproportionately small amount of chilli to the amount of rice served however the flavour of the chilli was great - there just needed to be more of it to enjoy! Overall, a fantastic meal enjoyed by children ages 2 to adults aged over 80. We all had lovely food at great value and were served brilliantly by Lucy, Tom, Scott and Izzy....
